  • SMB Codes to Be Added (My Discoveries)

    Hi,

I am a new member of the GSHI shrine. My 1st post is my bevy of numerous Game Genie codes related to the NES Super Mario Bros. game.

    Here they are:

    Music codes:
AYEPYP - Ground level music all the time
PTEPYP+ETPPPO or AEVOPE - Castle music all the time
KAEPYO+AEVPYE - Castle music all the time
KAEPYO+EEVPYA - Total silence all the time
KAEPYO+XXVPYA - Water music all the time (altered version plays first, followed by endless loop of normal mix)
GLEPYO, SZAOAO - "Circus" music all the time
ZEVOAA - Normal water music when you are outside or underwater, not when you are underground or in a castle.
GEVOAA - Normal underground music when you are outside or underground, not when you are underwater or in a castle.
AEVOAE - Normal castle music when you are outside or in a castle, not when you are underground or underwater.
AOVOAA, AKVOAA - Cloud/Star Man music when you are outside or in the clouds, not when you are underground, underwater or in a castle.
EEVOAA, AEVOAA - Total silence when you are outside, not when you are underground, underwater, or in a castle. AEVOAA provides same result, except if you collect Star Man, his music loops infinitely until you go down a pipe, up to the clouds or complete the stage on a flagpole.
XXVOAA - Altered water music followed by endless loop of normal water music, when you are outside, not when you are underground, in a castle or underwater.
TUNOPA - Plays water music in pipe intro scene instead of its original music.

    Star Man music replacement codes:
    AAPSKA - No new music
    PAPSKA - Ground music
    ZAPSKA - Water music
    GAPSKA - Underground level music
    AAPSKE - Castle music
APPSKA - Same as default value
    AZPSKA - Pipe intro music
    AGPSKA - Default value
    EAPSKA - Silence

    Game Over music replacement codes:
    PAXOIZZA - Death music
    ZAXOIZZA - Default value
GAXOIZZA - Victory music (the tune that plays when you save Princess Peach)
AAXOIZZE - End of castle music (the tune that plays when you complete a castle)
APXOIZZA - Alternate Game Over music
AZXOIZZA - End of level music (the tune that plays when you hit the flagpole)
AGXOIZZA - Time running out (hurry up) music (the ditty that plays when timer decreases below 100 ticks)
EAXOIZZA - Silence (no music at all)

Add UYXOYXKN to all the codes listed above to change to the area music selections:
    PAXOIZZA - Ground music
    ZAXOIZZA - Water music
    GAXOIZZA - Underground music
    AAXOIZZE - Castle music
    APXOIZZA, AGXOIZZA - Cloud music
    AZXOIZZA - Pipe intro music

KYOPGOUN - Changes all area music selections to the following event music selections. Listed in order:
Water music is changed to the Game Over music.
Ground music is changed to the death music.
Underground music is changed to the victory music.
Castle music is changed to the end of castle music.
Cloud music is changed to the alternate Game Over music.
Pipe intro music is changed to the end of level music.

        APXOIZZA, AGXOIZZA - Cloud music
        AZXOIZZA - Pipe intro music
What code UYXOYXKN does is that it changes the value located at address 0x123F ($922F) from $FC (the byte that triggers the event music queue in a single-page STA instruction) to $FB (area music queue). The music select byte listed can be changed at the value pointing to address 0x123D ($922D).

Likewise, code KYOPGOUN changes the value at address 0x1124 ($9114) from $FB (area music queue) to $FC (event music queue).

GAXOIZZA+UYXOYXKN = Game Over music becomes underground music

One more "music all the time" code: PZEPYP (repeating ground music)

Interesting. I've never seen anyone making codes to modify the music tracks.

OK, I found this one to be submitted here:
PAEPYP+AAEOAO = Castle music all the time (no, really!)
