Alright, if anyone can make a code for this game, you guys can. This is one of the last handful of NES games that I have not beaten.

Now the manual states that the only way you can attack Gao Qui in his main prefecture is if you have the Imperial Edict. The only way to get the Edict is by having your Popularity go over 250. Popularity is very hard to raise. If you go over 250, when you start the next year the Emperor will award you with the Imperial Edict.

I used to have save states with my Popularity at two different values, but could never find a code for them. Say your Popularity was at 10, then changed to 30. Doing a search for a change of 20 would not work. I got completely stumped on this one.

If anyone can find the Popularity value and set it above 250, I may finally get to see the ending of this game. I guess if someone can find the value to have the Imperial Edict, that would work good as well. I am thinking that the value for Popularity may be more than 1 address.

If it's below 255 is one address, more than 255 then two address, now how the game should lets you go up to 999 (I think this should be the limit) will use two address. So 03E7 will be the value to 999 in hex. E7 should the first address and 03 the second to set it at 999. If the game beggins with, let say, 100, should be 64. I hate this kind of games, but I think I can take a look at this.

What icon is the Popularity?

it could also be a single code for each digit like say 99 would be 2 separate codes with each one having 9 as the digit,its worth a look into.

this game is a tough one to hack,I tried a simple code for men (its just a number) and I got nothing,tried known value and then unkown searches and nothing came up in the end,try your hand VisitntX.

Vis, the Popularity icon is the big Heart. You gain points by beating certain beasts that attack certain provinces. I will dig around for my save states and email them to you. They are from a long time ago, probably from when I used NESten.

do you have any codes made adaml? this way i know where to look for other codes in memory.

personally i don't think any codes are made for it the onlyway i've been able to get anything to work is through cheat engine

Probably the values are stored in the SRAM area. I will try to do it, but this kind of games give me headeacheds, not when doing codes, but when trying to understand them :P

I don't know if they are boring as I was not really able to understand them to play them. Too many options and choices to do, why not something more easy, as burn other villages to conquer, that's easy. Heheheh. But it seems that KOEI does the best conquer strategy games, according to people. Anyway, as soon as I go home I will play a little and see if I manage to gain some popularity, this is what I was trying to say, I don't know if I will be able to gain some, that's sad.

Yeah, Whipon understand this kind of games, thanks god we have him around. I was not able to gain any popularity and I was so pissed by that.
