Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (SNES) question

Is it just me or was this game basically meant for little kids? Its almost a total depature from Super Mario World 1. :| Anybody have any game suggestions for somebody who liked the first game?

I know this is a very old thread but I like to respond to this.

@ragemanchoo: the SMW2: YI game was actually meant for everyone; kids and grown-ups alike. sure the graphics of the game may seem like kid's drawing but the overall gameplay & level design is what makes this game fun to play at any age. I first played yoshi's island back in the mid-1990s when I was a teenager and the levels were designed very well. and yes I've played Super Mario World 1 as well, back in the day.
