  • Alternate codes...

I have a new PC, & I downloaded FCEU v.97 from an external HD onto it. I've also hadta download mosta the roms for it all over again.

I've found that in several games, the codes that worked on the old PC don't work now. I believe it's because of the different versions of the roms & not the fault of any of the software.

Some of you just might now be discovering the wonderful world of NES games, & have the same probs. Therefore, I shall go to work when I can, to make alternate codes for these rom versions. I have no idea what these rom versions are named, so I'll just lest'em as 'alternate codes'. I suggest that if the codes already posted don't work, just sample one of the alternate codes to see if IT worx. I'm sure the staff here will clearly differentiate between the older codes & the alternate codes, as I'll post'em in this thread & label'em as alternate.

I haven't done any work with the Genesis emus yet, and I've had no probs with any SNES roms I've just DL'd for ZSNES.

Cool. If we can establish a definite pattern, and discern which version is which, I'll add them to the GSHI wiki offset list, and Majestic Porter (in the Downloads section).

Also, after you've hacked a code or two for these new ROMs that you've already hacked for the old ones, check if the difference is universal. If so, just use math to find the rest of the codes you've already hacked

Majestic Porter can help with that, also.
    I may be lazy, but I can...zzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZ...
