I'm looking to see if someone can make a true character modifier for this game. You have a party of 5 characters, 4 of them are always permanent. The only one that can be different is the 5th party member.
Using the bizhawk emulator, I was able to find a code to modify that 5th character, but it only modifies him in the status and battle screens, it doesn't modify the character for story scenes. The story scenes are always the same, but that 5th character will say different lines depending on who you picked.
Code: 1F1D8A:?? (values 1-9 will change the character)
So with the cheat on, the character you picked during the game will always appear in story scenes regardless if you use the character modifier code I made. That means there must be another address that controls which 5th party member appears in story scenes. Since I already had the values, I tried loading different save files with different 5th party members to see if I could find the relevant address, but alas, I was not able to find anything using my limited hacking skills
Here's hoping someone with more advanced skills is able to find it.
Here are some saves with 3 different 5th party members. File extension is Bizhawk's SaveRAM. Change to .mcr for other emulators.
