  • Overlooked/Unhackable Codes

I figured this place seems a little more interested in PSX than KW is, I so thought I'd toss a couple ideas. Also, I'd love some PCSX compatible FF7 saves at different points in the game, if anyone has any. I had a save at like every save point on the 1st disc with ePSXe and lost them in a damn HDD crash a year or two ago. I'm still pissed about that.

(I'd probably look into some of the FF7 hacks using breakpoints on PCSX if I could get to that point in the friggin game again)

    --------------------
    Final Fantasy 7
    --------------------
Skip Intro - I've seen an FMV mod, but no digits or straight up Skip Intro hack
    Skip Cloud's Coma (UGH!)
Unlock All Floors - Elevator in Shinra Building (Having the Key Items never appeared to do it - Maybe somethnig to do with game progress flags?)
Allow editing of Sephiroth/Young Cloud's equipment
Prevent characters from being removed from battle - like Ruby's Whirlsand and Midgar Zolem's tail slap thing. [done, but glitchy]

Always Have Weapon Drawn in Arcade Mode

Feel free to add to the list, or help shorten it.

By "Skip Cloud's Coma", do you mean the ridiculous "wark"-like sequences of him bumbling around in his wheelchair, or the entire event altogether?

I remember KE hacked something-or-other to do with progress flags for FF7...I'll bring it up to him next time we meet.

The last two are great ideas. I should do a bit of hacking in the next while...
    I may be lazy, but I can...zzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZ...

Well, the whole event would work, but the part that's most annoying to me is reliving his past and sorting shit out with Tifa. That's a long ass set of scenes that's only fun once, unless your memory sucks as much as his.

I monitor the FF7 thread on GSCCC. Someone requested an enemy HP multiplier or the like, so I decided to look into it. Came up with a few nifty items. I'd still like to know where the damn enemy Attack/Defense stats are stored.

8011f880 FFFF - I think that may actually do it.. It's the code I have posted on the site that makes Sephiroth's sword double sided, but without the joker that makes it only apply to Sephiroth.

It might just be a graphic and not apply the weapon damage. Sadly, I don't have Ehrgeiz anymore so I can't test it.

Neat code, but it just screws with the image.

Bah. I see noone's cracked that damn Ehrgeiz thing yet. Here's a couple of FF7 hacks I drummed up. I have some other routines in my notes, but I haven't bothered to do anything with them yet. I should see if I can make all enemies undead. I think it's just something in the elemental defense/absorption flags. hehe

Cool; nice work. I toyed with enemy status conditions for FF7 a few years ago...it was how I made the All Enemies Dead code, which I added to a joker for kicks

Impressive. It's sort of scary that even after all these years, there's still new codes being done for FF7.

Bah. I can't find the enemy elemental defense shit.

btw, someone should really try to figure out the damn story progress flags. Trying to skip one event by simply setting a value once still seems to mess with later things, as if the flags are reused and not properly cleared or something.

                          Now we're getting somewhere...

                          Can't Be Removed From Battle
                          D00A6E9C FFC8
                          800A6E9C 0008
                          D00A6E9E 27BD
                          800A6E9E 03E0
                          D00A6EA2 AFBE
                          800A6EA2 2400
-One side effect. When something tries to remove a character, that character becomes invisible until they summon or something. Then they'll be visible again.

Only tested on Midgar Zolom so far, but it will most likely effect Ruby Weapon, etc. If anyone has a save on Disc 3, test on Ruby for me. hehe
