  • Star Ocean: Till the End of Time refusing to launch with codebreaker

first off i apologize if this is in the wrong area, but i didn't know where else to put it
second off so i searched everywhere on these forums but couldn't find an answer
my issue is, i'm trying to play Star Ocean: Till the End of Time on a mobo 4.0'ed ps2 coupled with fmcb (i'm using fmcb mainly for the QoL menus) and it WAS working at one point. i even was able to beat the game 2x start to finish with no issues. then suddenly one day after about a period of playing other games i decided to go back to it. launched codebreaker via fmcb, selected my codes, got to opl, launched the game annnnnnnnd suddenly it wouldn't work. so i tried a few more times. same result. looked at the HDD via winhiip. and saw a bunch of the games had bad partition listed. so i'm like, ok, formatted the drive and reinstalled the games. still didn't work. even bought a new sata hdd with the proper network adapter. got it today, installed my games, tried to launch star ocean and STILL refuses to launch with cheats... so i'm at a utter loss. the game launches fine without them though. and i didn't touch anything prior to all this settings wise.
i did however install them differently onthe new drive. i used a batch version of hdl dump instead of winhiip. but that shouldn't affect anything right?
so i do remember having this issue in the past with a non chipped ps2 running straight fmcb. but as i mentioned, i was able to play through the whole game 2x start to end no issues with this setup on my chipped ps2.i can confirm that the rips are usa based and i'm using a usa based console
    Disc 1 id is slus_204.88
    Disc 2 id is slus_208.91
i'm using the cracked codebreaker 9.2
i've tried using 2 different code lists (i have the stock list that comes with the elf and a similar set of codes with a few added ones that was made by Lee4 i think)
neither work even though they both used to
so i'm not sure how i can fix this. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

this game has "Gameguard" protection, stop frezze or not run it means protection is triggered, maybe in ps2 console chip parse ok codebreaker "bypass gameguard related" codes, but opl / codebreaker elf can't or code part is missing from you codes list (i think codes are related to master codes "must be enabled") - check "game library"; also i have been trying to port this bypass protection or find workaround for use in PCSX2 .pnach cheat system but not luck, maybe if some experienced user can help port it i would be great help.

yeah and i hear it's a massive pain to bypass. why tri ace made a anti cheat system for a SINGLE PLAYER OFFLINE GAME is fuckin beyond me
and i don't understand how i can successfully play it TWICE all the way through, touch NO settings and come back a month or two later just to have it suddenly not work.
      utterly ridiculous...
