Are you talking something like the bonus that occurs on the regular (World) version after you beat the game? (Where you can hit B to change world.) (Which on the (World) version is the code "Enable Level Select".)

I tried checking for the possibility of a similar code in the VS version and I don't think that bonus feature exists in the VS version. Which would kind of make that tricky. I could be wrong though; if that bonus is enabled on the VS version after you beat the game let me know and I will look into that again.

I might be able to convert the "Start on World ?" codes from the NES version to VS...

Until I get some free time try testing this AZNXOLYA

That should just change whatever level you are on to 4-1. Which isn't very useful since you would be stuck there, but I would like to make sure it works on whatever you are using.

Yeah that bonus feature does not appear to have been implemented in the arcade (VS) version of Super Mario Bros. Which kind of makes sense because they wanted people to have to put in quarters to reach the end instead of starting on level 8 every time. (If someone beat the game the bonus would stay enabled until the arcade machine was reset.)

Would you like me to try to convert the "Start on World ?" codes from the NES (World) version to VS or were you wanting that bonus level select specifically for some reason?

OK they seem to work fine. Sorry I was busy all day. Let me know if you have any problems.

Unlike the same codes on the regular NES version you have to die once first for it to start you on the correct level. (Though I'm pretty sure this is because of how whatever you are using to play it implements the "Insert Coin" feature.)

Also, I suggest using the infinite lives code when using these because if you run out of lives and then use the insert coin to continue it will bring you back to whatever level the code is for.

This is a 3 line code, but the first 2 are always the same. So just enter those 2 and then change the 3rd line depending on what level you want to start on.

VS. Super Mario Bros. (VS) - Start on World ? (Must die once to take effect.)

              MUST BE ON:

              YIOOZYEX
              YAOOLYLA

              START ON WORLD:

              PAOOANNY    Start on World 2
              ZAOOANNY    Start on World 3
              LAOOANNY    Start on World 4
              GAOOANNY Start on World 5
              IAOOANNY     Start on World 6
              TAOOANNY    Start on World 7
              YAOOANNY    Start on World 8
