I just tried both in Babel Tower and neither work.

I'm not surprised. I think there's no reliable 'no random battles' codes for Xenogears.

The No Random Battles on World Map code works peachy.

Very useful if you just got the Yggriasil [Boat version] and want to explore the ocean a lil.
