  • Help with Final Fantasy 2j (NES) and 3j (NES)

    Hello!
First of all, I want to apologize humbly for requests that I have made on the respective code pages for the games mentioned in the title. I had used the Code Request thing at the top of each page (which, funnily enough though, I never knew about until recently lol) and once I figured out a couple of things I wanted to delete them, but it didn't have an option where you could cancel any code requests I made. If anyone happens to see those requests, disregard them.

Anyway, the codes I requested were Infinite HP and MP for Final Fantasy 2j and Quick Experience Gain for Final Fantasy 3j, both for the NES. For 2j, I found that the same codes used for the game bundled with Final Fantasy 1 work great with the standalone FF2j, while the codes already featured on the 2j page didn't work at all. I wanted to mention that to any admins out there. As for 3j, I didn't realize there was already a Quick Exp. Gain code made for the game until I combed through it all again (though I know it only hikes you up by 1 level, it is better than nothing). Sometimes you look through so many lines of code that you just get really confused anymore. Maybe it's my age, I dunno.

I do want to make this request, though. For both games, I would like some codes where all characters are not afflicted by any status ailments (i.e. Poison, Sleep, Stone, etc.). There are some for 2j but, like the Inf HP and MP codes already there, they do not work, and there are none at all for 3j. Any and all help for these would be appreciated!

Again, I'm sorry for being too overeager with the Requests option. I promise I will be smarter and and more patient with it next time. Thank you!!!

    Inf HP Character 2 - 7DB4:FF

    Inf HP Character 3 - 7DE4:FF

    Inf HP Character 4 - 7E14:FF

    Inf MP Character 1 - 7D86:FF

    Inf MP Character 2 - 7DB6:FF

    Inf MP Character 3 - 7DE6:FF

    Inf MP Character 4 - 7E16:FF

      Update:
Looked through both code pages again. I found four codes for Final Fantasy 2j that are Status Modifiers. I set them so that my status remains at normal. Trying them out I see that I can get poisoned by an enemy, only to be back to normal status at my next turn. So, yeah, I have the codes I need for FF2j and I am dropping my request for it.

As for Final Fantasy 3j, I found codes for No Status Ailments for each character there and tried them out. They didn't work. In battle I got poisoned and remained that way. These are the codes I used:

      6102:00
      6142:00
      6182:00
      61C2:00

Maybe if someone reworked these they could work. Thanks!

Sorry mechawily , I've been stretched pretty thin here lately. Can you upload an FCEUX save state where a character has the possibility of being poisoned in battle for FF3? If not, can you tell me how far I need to play into the game for it to happen. Anything else you need me to look at for FF2 and FF3?

It's okay. I know you all are busy with other stuff (like I am). Thankfully, I'm a firm believer in the saying, "Patience is a virtue". LOL

You actually don't have to go very far at all. After getting through the cave, beating the first boss, and seeing the opening titles, you can head above ground and head for the village of Ur. Lurk around the woods in the north part of town to enter monster battles (yes, you can ACTUALLY enter random monster battles in this town!). Half the time you enter battle with werewolves, but the other half has you fight Killer Bees which can poison you!

Thank you so much for your help! This should be good for now, but if I need anything else, I know who to turn to!

Sorry for the double post. First time I posted it I got some kind of error message, so I redid the message and tried it again. Not sure what is going on in this forum.

Hey! Sorry I've been so doggone late. Here is a link to a file with everything you need, including a copy of my ROM (as I used a translation patch on it and forgot which one I used LOL). When you use the savestate, it will take you into a battle with Killer Bees, which can poison you. I have plenty of potions if you need them. Thanks and good luck!!!

Been in a battle with Killer Bees for five minutes and didn't get poisoned once! Safe to say these codes work! Thank you!
