  • [Genesis] [Request] Dashin' Desperadoes

Good day, I've got (hopefully) a simple request for this game; one-hit kill/beat the boss(es) in single player mode. The freeze CPU codes works to an extent, meaning it does freeze the CPU player. But you can't actually defeat the CPU player while you have the CPU player frozen. So a one-hit boss defeat code would be much appreciated, it doesn't matter if it's a Game Genie or Pro Action Replay code though I suppose Game Genie would be 'better' for use on a Mega Everdrive. Nonetheless, thanks for listening.

Unless someone else beats me to it, I will take a look at it when I get home in a few hours.

Do you have a save state shortly before you get to a boss? I suck at this game.

With a lot of cheating, I was able to get to a boss. Give this code a try and let me know if it will work for you. I've only tested it on the first boss...

Boss cars don't move. Makes it very easy to blow the car up.

This game can be pretty fun, especially when you have somebody to play with. I've never beaten the single player mode, so that's why I'm giving it a go now. The code works good on the first boss, but it messes up the second boss where I can't even hit him and he just constantly scrolls up the screen. I'm going to assume here it's probably going to take a different code for each boss fight, but if needbe I can play the game and make save states right before each boss battle.

I've uploaded KEGA Fusion save states for the first and second bosses: https://mega.nz/#!I84zBI7a!1JV_K8CIL...nBlOfLDZEcP3N4

Thanks for the save states. The reason I chose to make a "stop car" code instead of a 1 hit kill code was because the 1 hit code was giving me problems, so the stop car code was easier to make. I'm hoping the 1 hit code will work on all levels. I've done some more work on the 1 hit code, and I think I understand how the car takes damage now. There are different "stages" of damage (broken window, dented fender, back door pops open, etc), and I just need to figure out how to get the car to blow up with as few codes as possible. Just got home from work, will keep you posted.

Hopefully this will work on all levels. The best I can do for now is 7 hits to blow up the car, instead of the normal 30 hits. Let me know how it works (only tested on first boss).

                Thanks, Tony.

I was able to play and beat the single player mode of this game for the first time. I've found out there's three types of boss battles in this game; the car boss battle, the blimp boss battle and the plane boss battle with each boss battle repeating once in the 6 different levels. Your code works great with the two car boss battles, but it doesn't work on the blimp or plane boss battles. Here's save states, with the first two being the same first two car and blimp boss battles with a new save state of the final plane boss battle added: <removed - better link below>

I still own a CIB copy of this game, and I look forward to playing it with the actual cartridge and a Game Genie, even though some of the codes on the main site, like Invincibility and freeze CPU can be a bit flakey at times and can even break the boss battles from working. I'm sure all kinds of other useful codes could be created for this game, like player 1 always wins regardless who gets to the finish line first, player 1 moves/runs faster, player 1 jumps higher, etc.

                Again, thanks so much Tony!

EDIT: I'm starting to think you were right to do a "stop car" code, because I just tried expert mode and boss battles are much more difficult now due to the car/blimp/plane speeding up during them. But your car hit code still works in expert mode.

Here's save states before all 6 boss battles in the game in expert mode: https://mega.nz/#!5xwBnQIJ!Ju-oF6V2N...M61oows2sY1dPI

                    Nice, thanks again Tony!

It's so fun to be able to reach high places now, I'm going to have fun exploring the levels a little bit. The *only* issue I'm still encountering is, if you jump high enough into the air and land on the ground, you'll get hurt with that OUCH text, which none of the invincibility codes on the main site work for.

Speed shoes last twice as long.

As soon as you pick-up the speed shoes start running, and when you reach full speed (in 1 or 2 seconds), you will warp to the end of the level and win the race.

                      ==========

The second code (above) is kind of experimental and is more for fun although it will definitely make the game easier.

                      EDIT:

                      R0NT-A60Y
Don't fall when you walk off ledges ("walk on air"). Only works on boss levels. Press Jump to drop down.

This code is pretty helpful with the bosses. You can "walk on air" above the boss and throw bombs without getting hit by his bombs. Only tested it on one car level, and one blimp level.

Oh man, that walking on air in boss levels code works pretty well. Makes those boss fights much, much easier. And that warp to the end of the level code is pretty fun too, especially seeing the game glitch out, fun times. There's all kinds of other interesting stuff to mess with in this game; the various weapon pick-ups, the bug pick-up which attacks the other player, the thunderstorm/lightning pick-up which spawns a small thunderstorm over the other player and fries him with a lightning bolt, etc. There's also hidden mini-games and stuff like that.

This game is so much fun and very underrated in my opinion, and thanks to you, it's actually more fun now.
