  • [Code Request] Kid Icarus (NES)

Hey folks! I'm new here. I know Kid Icarus already has a lot of codes, but I was wondering if it's possible to have cheat codes that set Pit's arrow strength level to wherever you want it at the beginning of the game? The reason I ask is, whenever Pit upgrades his arrows, it changes the palette for him, all NPCs, some items, and at least one enemy. I'm looking to capture sprites of all these changes, hence why I want to play through the game from the beginning at each of the different strength levels.

I did see a couple codes to this effect on the site already (one for the first upgrade, which turns Pit green, and one for the max upgrade). I suppose I could fiddle around with those two to get the others, but in the meantime, does anyone already know? Thanks in advance!

The value at RAM address $0152 determines Pit's arrow strength and palette color. Use these RAM codes to get your desired palette:

    0152:00 Level 1 Arrow Strength/Normal Color
    0152:01 Level 2 Arrow Strength/Green Color
    0152:02 Level 3 Arrow Strength/Purple Color
    0152:03 Level 4 Arrow Strength/Red Color
    0152:04 Level 5 Arrow Strength/Blue Color

The palettes can also be altered independently of Arrow Strength. This allows you to upgrade your Arrow Strength without changing the palette.

03A1:20 Always Normal Color Palette (1 of 2)
03A3:07 Always Normal Color Palette (2 of 2)

03A1:39 Always Green Color Palette (1 of 2)
03A3:0A Always Green Color Palette (2 of 2)

03A1:32 Always Purple Color Palette (1 of 2)
03A3:13 Always Purple Color Palette (2 of 2)

03A1:34 Always Red Color Palette (1 of 2)
03A3:05 Always Red Color Palette (2 of 2)

03A1:3C Always Blue Color Palette (1 of 2)
03A3:11 Always Blue Color Palette (2 of 2)
