How to reset the N64 Gameshark Key Codes

It seems like I'm trying to get Cruis'n USA to work on my Gameshark, It's V3.0

It's black, The Gameshark is clean btw, I tried the deflt Super Mario 64 KC, Nope, Key Code for F-Zero, Nope

The Key Code I tried next is for Ken Griffey Jr, Nothing again..So I looked for the Game in my Bin, I can't find the Game & I don't have any of the Games listed..So I'm locked out of it

Some games have added protection that prevents cheat devices from functioning. Key codes were first introduced on GS/AR version 1.08 to bypass some of these protections. They're present in all versions after that, as well. Due to these protections, some games will never work on an older version cheat device.

To boot a game that requires a key code, the device must first be booted with any unprotected game. In v3.0+ of the GS, there's a menu option for setting key codes. In older versions, you have to hold L+R on the main menu. Once set, the key code is only active for 1 boot up. Turn off the N64, put the protected game on the shark, and boot up. After booting the protected game once, the key code flips back to default.

In devices v2.2 and higher, the key codes have an additional 32-Bit value attached to them. This is an additional special instruction, which is believed to set the default destination of the code engine. It was first required by Ocarina of Time. Xploder64 uses "boot modes" in pretty much the same way GS/AR uses key codes. A list of all the preloaded key codes in each version of GS/AR follows.

Start the Cheat Device up with another game on it. Go to the main Cheat Device screen and press L+R. You will be taken to the "Key Code" main screen. Now go down and select the game you want and select it. It will ask if you have this game, select "Yes." Now turn off your system and take the game off the Cheat Device, leaving the Cheat Device still in the system. Now put on the game that you selected and turn it on. It will now work. If you DO NOT have this game, DO NOT select this, for until you place that game into your Cheat Device again you cannot use your Cheat Device for ANY other game!

If the game you are wanting to play is not on the Key list, go to the bottom of the list, and type in the code for the game. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask ONLY works with v2.2 or higher Cheat Devices!
