SNES hacking

hello, I am an artist working on a piece that involves hacking SNES games, basically what I want to do is hack the Indiana Jones game and replace the playable character with Han Solo from the Star Wars SNES game, on the actual cartridge. Has anybody heard of a hack of this nature before? I don't want to do it if it has already been done, and I will need a tremendous amount of help doing it. I was just wondering how difficult something like this would be and if there are any guides that could help me get started.
