  • (Request) Animaniacs (MD/GEN) Codes

    I'd like to request a few codes for this puzzle platformer:
    1. Faster horizontal movement speed - Done
    2. Same delay when attacking on ground as when in mid-air for Wacko and Dot - Done
    3. Faster switching between characters
    4. Faster block pushing - Done

    Thanks.

    I'll take a look at these a little later. Do you care if it's USA or European versions?

      Thanks Tony! Not unless the EU one plays slower.

        when i play US version of this game on Kega or Gens GS before, they freak out as they touch something, it make them lose their life. seems Infinite Health (Enegry) or Invincble don't work

          Here is a code to make the characters walk faster (right only). Let me know if you want it faster, slower, or if it's ok like it is.

            Nice! I've played a couple of levels and this feels good except in some of the parts requiring precision platforming, as the level design is made with for example the previous jump length in mind (makes a few platforming puzzles redundant with this speed). Maybe 15% slower than this would be best?

              I'll have the updated code shortly, as well as a code for Left.

              If you're interested, I believe can make a code to make their initial acceleration faster when starting to walk. In other words, they'll go from standing still to full speed faster than normal, or instantly if you'd like. Let me know.

                Cool, well tbh I didn't have an issue with the acceleration but do it if you want to. Others might find it useful.

                  This should be 15% slower. Let me know if it's ok.

                      Walk much faster.

                      ========

                      uffbulle, I included 2 sets of codes in case someone has limited code space they can use the shorter set of codes.

                      Can you help me out with a little better code description. I said that the 15% slower speed makes some areas of the game a little easier. How exactly does the slightly slower speed help?

                      EDIT: Sorry for the delays. Just got a new gaming PC. Enjoying the hell out of it. lol.

                        Congrats to the new PC!

                        Umm, if I understand you correctly you're talking about this most recent code compared to the first one you made? Well, in my opinion the faster one made precision platforming harder. On the other hand it makes running away from the guardsman at a certain point easier, and getting through a certain part of the final level where you're escaping an explosion easier. Finally it makes some platforming puzzles redundant (for example near the end of studio 1 IIRC) because you can jump further and skip the puzzle. In short the slower version is more balanced difficulty wise and mainly just gives gameplay a little boost since the original walking speed is relatively slow amongst other platformers. I've seen complaints about it in some reviews.

                        The request for equally fast attacks when on ground as in mid-air relates to that final level part too, as well as the "minecart" part in studio 1 where you're at a time limit to hit switches to survive and there's a bit of a difficulty spike because of the delay. Other than that it just makes gameplay flow better.

                          Thanks for the explanation. I removed the long code description. I figure that people can try both and decide which they prefer.

                          New code

                          AKWA-CAGC
                          Push crates twice as fast.

                          Can make this faster if you want.

                          ==========

                          Will look into the "faster attacks on ground" code next. I haven't done any "mid-air" attacks, so not sure what the difference is. Will play further into the game and see if I can figure anything out.

                          EDIT: Also, it only takes about 1 second to switch between characters. Not sure if I can make it any faster than that.

                            Nice! No, that's really fast as is. Could you add faster pulling as well? You hold the attack next to a crate and move away from it to pull it.

                            There's a "preparation" animation before wacko and dot attack when on the ground but not in mid-air, maybe the game could be made to skip it?

                            The character switching is the least of the issues I had with the controls, but it would be cool if it could be made faster since you do it a lot in this game.
