Dragon Warrior III question...key glitch? (Probably a naive question)

The Game Genie code "Start With 6 Magic Keys" (PIOZENNN) ... You can't drop or sell any of those keys, can you? I keep trying to do that and it won't let me. Is that normal? Also, the number of keys doesn't decrease when you use one. Do you only need one for the whole game? Thanks

I would imagine that as long as the code is active the keys will never decrease. You could try saving your game and then turning off the code which should keep your keys but allow you to use them up or drop them.
