  • [Question] How to convert PS2 codes between regions ?

    Hello everyone,

I am a complete noob in the cheating world but I would like to learn some things about this. For now, I'm looking for Disgaea Hour of Darkness codes that would work on my PAL game but those given by Codejunkies are not as useful as those I found on this website. If I'm correct, you need to have 2 codes doing the exact same thing on the two regions in order to guess the conversion key. My problem here is that I couldn't find any code matching for both PAL and NTSC-U versions of the game for now (except for the Master code but I think that won't work). Do you have any piece of advice to help me in my conversion ?

well having the 2 Regions Elf files might help as well . Depending on the Type of code.

Ah ? How can it help ? Are Elfs files named after the game id ? If yes, I think I can easily get them both. I'm trying to convert ARMAX codes for now.

The conversion key you are referring to is an offset between the two version of the games. Offsets rarely work for multiple codes. Your best bet is to copy the hex patterns found in the version with codes and search that same pattern in the version you want to port the codes to.
