  • Famicom Japanese Games/ Game Genie Help

I hope I'm not posting this in the wrong section but if so, please forgive me...

I recent got my hands on a Famicom-to-NES Converter to play Japanese Famicom games on my US NES. I've searched around online but haven't found any definitive answers but what I want to know is this: Is there a way to play Japanese games with an NES Game Genie? By that I mean is there a way to get a Japanese Famicom game to boot up to use Game Genie codes for it? Or do I need a Pro Action Replay?

Any help would be most sincerely appreciated. Thanks guys...

A company called Realtek (not the same company that develops audio drivers and software) that is based in Hong Kong(?) that released an aftermarket(?) version of the Game Genie for the Famicom. Wouldn't the Game Genie theoretically work while connected to the passthrough adapter adapter unless there is a voltage differential from the converter?

This might help. Try inserting the Famicom and or Game Genie into the adapter in opposite direction than you are currently trying.

Did not work. Any thing else I could try? I've seen in the NES Game Genie code databases here there are a number of Famicom games that use Game Genie codes but how do I get my Game Genie and Famicom game with my Famicom-to-NES converter to work together on my US NES? Do I need to just get a Famicom system or a Japanese Game Genie? (that is if one exists.)

Get a flash cart that supports cheat codes which is close to the price of the Famicom anyways.
