  • [Request] Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (GBA) Codes

Hey everyone. So the main issue people tend to have with CotM, grinding for cards, is fixed via codes already. Still the game has some balance issues and the controls could be more streamlined. Here are some codes I'd like to see done for it:
-Auto-run after getting the dash boots (currently you need to double tap the direction you want to run)
-Faster block pushing. There are some puzzles later on where this would help the pacing a lot.
-Somewhat stronger knives and holy water sub weapons (15% or so). The axe and especially the cross are a lot better and it's a bummer when you accidentally pick the others up and the one you had falls down a pit.
-Shorter knockback when thrown (for example when hit by a bomb) - Would make some of the vertical platforming less tedious.
-Ability to cancel the slide by jumping or attacking - This would make very close combat with certain card combos more useful.
-Enemy projectiles are unblockable with the regular whip - For example the axe armors are pretty crappy in this game.
-Not sure if this last one is possible with a code, but it would be awesome to be able to change action and attribute cards via a button combo instead of going into the menu. For example, hold up+press L or Select=next action card is picked; hold down+press L or Select=next attribute card is picked. The selection command loops in the menu so I guess it would loop outside as well if that command is accessed, preventing getting stuck on the last cards.

    DSS/card combo stuff (Explanations: http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Castlev...the_Moon/DSS):
    -More Effective (suggestions in parenthesis):
Mercury/Serpent (halved str penalty), Mercury/Golem (faster attack), Mercury/Cockatrice (30% cheaper), Mercury/Manticore (+5% str instead of -10%), Mercury/Thunderbird (make normal attack elemental too), Mercury/Unicorn (25% cheaper),
Venus/Cockatrice (10 exp points instead of 1), Venus/Griffin (halved cost), Venus/Black Dog (defense is 2/3 instead of 1/2),
Jupiter/Mandragora (heals 50% more each time), Jupiter/Cockatrice (no longer affects your movement), Jupiter/Manticore (50% more damage), Jupiter/Griffin (does as much damage as a slide but drains MP per enemy hit),
Mars/Serpent (str -10% instead of -30%), Mars/Golem (faster swing), Mars/Cockatrice (somewhat faster swing), Mars/Griffin (can jump or walk while charging), Mars/Thunderbird (+10% str), Mars/Black Dog (somewhat faster attack)
Diana/Salamander (10% cheaper and 30% faster speed), Diana/Golem (2x damage), Diana/Cockatrice (bigger spread and 50% more damage), Diana/Thunderbird (2x damage), Diana/Black Dog (somewhat longer range)
    Apollo/Cockatrice (2x damage), Apollo/Manticore (2x damage and cost), Apollo/Black Dog (2x damage)
    Saturn/Salamander (50% stronger and 30% faster attack), Saturn/Mandragora (10% stronger attack), Saturn/Black Dog (10% stronger attack)
Uranus/Salamander (20% more damage), Uranus/Serpent (10% more damage or larger radius of high damage), Uranus/Mandragora (less random?), Uranus/Golem (20% more damage), Uranus/Manticore (10% more damage and cost), Uranus/Black Dog (30% more damage and 10% higher cost)
    Pluto/Cockatrice (+1 def per 3 minutes played), Pluto/Thunderbird (+1 str per 5 minutes played)

    -Less Effective (suggestions in parenthesis):
Diana/Manticore (10% shorter duration), Diana/Griffin (10% less damage and cost),
    Apollo/Thunderbird (10% shorter duration),
Neptune/Serpent (can still be frozen but for 20% as long), Neptune/Cockatrice (can still be petrified but for 20% as long), Other Neptune combos (no HP restored)
    Uranus/Thunderbird (10% shorter duration), Uranus/Unicorn (3x MP cost)
    Pluto/Manticore (2x MP cost),

    Thanks!

Some can be done with a plethora of codes but others are better off with a game hack which is about 85% of your requests. To do what you're asking for requires lots of disassembly and time and maybe even having to write custom subroutines, I don't think you'll get much help though but good luck.
