Hi, I am new to this forum. I recently found a hack for Yoshi's safari that states it is a joystick hack. Will test in the morning. But is there a possibility that someone could work on this and if not point me in the direction i need to go to do it myself?I have no clue as far as coding goes. I loved this super scope game but my two crt tvs are shot and super scope does not work on high def and i am refurbishing a SNES for a SD2SNES card. Any help or advice will be appreciated, thanks.

Metal Combat SNES Joystick Hack, is it possible?

Glossing over the idea in my head, it would be impossible to map all the directional buttons and the A button down to 5 codes, which is what the Game Genie allows for patching.
Here's a ridiculously grotesque idea that might work if someone is willing put the effort: Hack the X-Band modem to save the games ROM with the new code to allow using a controller."Roll The Bones" - Rush

Try stacking 2 Game Genies. That could possibly do something on the order of making Mortal Kombat playable with what I assume is a modified joystick for use with the SNES console.
Heck, I used to use FOUR Game Genies on my NES years ago, and it was hard to keep games from bugging out and freezing (or simply not wanting to work at all)...LOL

How many lines are we talking here? 20? 30? If so, then you'd have to pull some really weird electronic voodoo to make an actual SNES Mortal Kombat cartridge accept input from a hacked joystick. Or, a really tall stack of Game Genies. LOLTempus fugit, ergo, carpe diem.

I would estimate about 20-30 byte changes. After two Game Genie units running in parallel, the voltage drops pretty quickly resulting in instability. Your best bet is to get a flash cart and run a hacked rom off of a flash cart."Roll The Bones" - Rush

Well, that would be the easiest way to go about it for a real SNES, I suppose. An even EASIER way? Simply emulate SNES Mortal Kombat (in all its "Fake-tality" glory) on an emulator. The PSP is a really good platform for SNES games because it's so similar in shape to a real SNES controller. And, has the buttons in all the right places, plus a few extra (to allow for stuff like turbo and rapid-fire).Tempus fugit, ergo, carpe diem.
