  • [REQUEST][GEN]Codes for Prince of Persia (U)

This game have very good reworked graphics and a nice adaptation of the original Game Music.
The Playability, the most important thing on a game, unfortunately wasn't so well adapted...

The 2 real problems of this version, beyond the fight system, are:

1- Theres a DELAY when you start to walk, much worse than the Megaman Wily Wars delay!
2- The Transtion of a screen to other have a Fade out and Fade in effect that don't exist on the original game. Looks better, but plays worse and
    disrupts you.

Someone could do a Code to decrease this annoyng delay and a way to remove or make the transition faster to play like the original or the SNES game?

    Thanks!

    OBS:
    (U) version is a port of the original game
    (E) version is the same port, but with extra levels, some awful musics and with an annoyng bug in the transition of the screens

I just played the US version, and there is no actual delay that I noticed when starting to walk. It does seem a little cumbersome when he starts to walk, but I don't think there's much that can be done about that with codes.

I also looked at the "E" version and the amount of time it takes to transition from one screen to the next (either direction) is just a fraction of a second. It's almost instantaneous. You mentioned that the "bug" is in the "E" version, and it's when you move from Right to Left. The transition time seemed exactly the same to me for both versions (U and E), and I also didn't notice any difference when moving from Right to Left, or visa versa. Maybe I'm not seeing what you're talking about.

The delay is on response of your input. Just compare with the other versions, this version have a 10 frames to response your command!
The SNES per example only use 2 frames to respond your command, like the original game. May seem little but for a prince of persia game that's a big difference!

The (E) version bug isn't on the Fade effect! What I meant to say:
Transition only occurs when you is already in the second tile of the next screen, different of the (U) version that plays like the original. This hinders the gameplay.
*Bug Occurs on of Left to Right Transitions not Right to Left, my fault
Anyway the (E) don't does part of my code request is only a curiosity LOL

I think I explained myself badly. Sorry for my bad "Engrish"...

After the Fantasia controler fix codes made by @Tony Hedstrom, i remembered this old topic that i create and wonder if was possible fix the controls problems found on the Genesis Prince of Persia (U).

Heres video examples of what a tried to say (cos my engrish s#cks):

SEGA CD version looks worse but plays just like the original PC game. The Genesis has a big delay response just look the turn around movement. The transition on the SEGA CD version is instantaneous, on the Genesis version has a "stop, fade out, fade in, play" like that disrupts you if you are a Pro PoP player.

-Fix the delay response of the controls
-Fix or speed up the transition effect
-Check if was possible increase the overall speed of the game (like the SEGA CD version of PoP)
        Thanks!
