  • Any suggestions on where to find a cheat device for a gamecube?

Topic. I'm looking for a way to play Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance on the physical gamecube with cheat codes. I bought an action replay off of amazon that doesn't work (pre-loaded codes only problem) and I'm going nuts trying to find something that will let me use codes on this game. Far as I can tell, I need an action replay max to make this work, and the only one I can find is on ebay with scratches and a crack in the cd. I don't know if the action replay AR works for my needs, as there were a few of those, but after buying one action replay that doesn't work I'm skeptical to try something I don't know about, especially when it's expensive.

If someone could help me find SOMETHING that will let me use codes for this one game, I think I'd be happy enough to cry. I've been trying for years - yes, years - to get somewhere with this, and everything I try has outright failed. I would truly and honestly appreciate some help on this matter.

    Thank you for your time,

    V

Probably the cheapest way to cheat with gc games is a modded Wii with Nintendont. It allows loading gc games from SD/USB and has cheat support.

The AR Max's on eBay are very expensive, I own one and I will tell you they crack very easily. Getting a Wii and softmodding it is a cheaper alternative.

I've ruined one system trying to mod things, so I'm hesitant to try that again, though I'll keep it in mind. I found the pictured AR for sale, though I'm not sure if it's compatible with my Dol-001 Gamecube (US). Can anyone here confirm if it would work? Please, please say yes.

Simple hacks but you need some tools:

        Follow the directions here:
        http://www.gc-linux.org/wiki/SDload

you will need this to do the instructions above along with your action replay:
        http://www.lightinthebox.com/sd-card..._p219205.html#

Here is a video of it in action (it's on the Wii but is essentially the same for the GC)

Bloody **** that's a lot more complicated then I would have expected. If I understood half of that I likely wouldn't have screwed up modding a system. What happened to things being simple? I have a console, a game, and codes, and I can't make them play nice in the sand box. Oy. Considering I can buy two consoles for the price of the AR, I guess I'm back at square -278 and try to mod another system. I hate this process so bloody much, I don't know whether to cry or scream.

Considering that isn't official or even legal most of the time, I wouldn't expect it to be easy.

I think I have a xenoGC chip lying around, I can install it in your system and even burn you a Swiss dvd to boot so you can cheat or do whatever. If interested send me a pm but I'm in the USA in case you're not it's not worth sending it to me.

That AR in the pic you posted will not allow adding codes. I own one.

It's the 1.20 version where Datel removed code adding simply because of a little exploit called sdload.

It's cool though, I'm going to hook her up with the XenoGC chip so she can run SDload or Swiss without any specials steps except booting a disc.
