  • Request for Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan) (FDS)

    Hello!
I know that RAW versions of the following codes exist:

    Infinite Lives
    Jump In Mid-Air

But is there any way someone could make these codes in Game Genie format??? I tried using the RAW versions with my new RetroArch emulator (it uses cheats now!) but they are not working at all. Game Genie codes, on the other hand, work fine. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance!

Smb2j. Was based off a FDS game its ROM starts off earlier then game genie can read so short answer can't be done

I altered the FDS genie device to provide Genie codes for the correct ROM address range for the FDS ($6000 - $DFFF). In other words, the site will provide genie variations of those codes you mentioned. It's up to your emulator if they work or not, obviously there wasn't a real game genie for the FDS.

As long as your emulator doesn't OR the address with 0x8000 when it decrypts the genie code, it should work.
Please put all complaints in writing and submit them here.

Above link not working? Try here.

Now none of the normal GG codes are recognized by the system

Well, I tried the codes but they didn't work. I guess it's the emulator then. Ah well, it was a good try. Thanks anyway!

Good afternoon, Mr. terspfan101. I have discovered this Game Genie code to invincibility: ZXEXASVO. Please, add this code.

I added it, but modified it, and gave you credit for it:

              ASEXIIEI Invincibility

You were in the right area of the ROM for Invincibility. If you are using a debugger to make your codes, which I hope you are, try to use proper opcodes. This is a good resource. It's for the SNES, but most of it applies to the NES as well:

I meant that the SMB2J Game Genie Code Invincibility (You Go Through Everything) ZXEXASVO (discovered by me) is bassed in the SMB1 Rick L's Game Genie Code Invincibility (You Go Through Everything) ZZZSSO. Please, Mr. terpsfan101, add this code.

Good evening, terpsfan101. Have a SMB2J FDS Game Genie Code to always have 24 stars?

Hello, terpsfan101. I have discovered a Game Genie code that by pressing the Start button and the A button allows you to start in world A without having to win 8 stars: AEEGGKAA. Can you add the code, please?

Wow! I gave up on this topic a while back, but I see that it had gained steam! I tried Vallenatero2016 's codes for Invincibility and Starting on World A and they WORKED for RetroArch!!! Yay!

Hey Vallenatero2016! If you're reading this, can you make codes for Infinite Lives and Infinite Jumps in the same manner as the previous two codes you did??? I would so much appreciate it! Thanks!

Ok, mechawily. See it in http://www.gamehacking.org/games/350. You find the infinite lives and Jump in mid-air.
