Well, I just checked www.xianaix.net/museum.htm , and it seems that it is finally back online! I will make a X-Flash iso with all the BIOSes included, and upload it here for easy access.

Here's the ISO, hosted on Google Drive, due to it being 5~ MB, thus too big for GameHacking. If there's somewhere else that would be preferred for hosting, let me know.

    Link

    Link 2

Link 2 has the same files, just with the copyright of the ISO modified with my name

I got my GameShark v2.1 today in the mail, and it works great! Now all I need to do is get the correct cable, and I can rip it using an older computer I have nearby.

Since it's a 2.1, hopefully by "older computer" you mean one with an ISA slot and a PC Comms link card. You can only use printer ports with GSPros.

Hmm, yeah the computer (Compaq iPAQ) I was going to use does only have Printer and serial ports.
I do have an even older computer that has a similar port to printer, which I believe is the correct port (Printer port, but black, right?)
Only thing is that this is on Windows 3.1/DOS, and I think the tools are Windows 95+.
There's also another port right next to it that is a male connecter, too, while the black one is female.

Well, neither computer is up to the challenge, with the Compaq only having Printer Parallel, and the IBM Portable P/70 not having enough RAM to run X-Link. I guess what I'll do now is get a PCI-E Parallel Card for my desktop, unless that wouldn't work, or there's an alternative that can be done with the other 2 computers.

I remember seeing a pci card that worked like it's ISA version and I think it was on Eurasia if they're still around.

I bought this card, but I could return this and buy a different one on either eBay or Amazon if it would work better or is a lot cheaper (I chose that because I saw the cheaper ones having compatibility issues or not working at all).
I saw somewhere that someone was having trouble getting a Parallel Card to PS1 to work, but then they tried setting it to SPP in the BIOS, then it worked for them, so hopefully this will be our answer .

(Sorry, if I shouldn't be doing all these replies, and instead should be editing one post)
I got the PCI-e Parallel card today, Windows 7 x64 installs it fine, but I still cannot get X-Flash working, even in a VMWare machine. (I tried both a Windows 98 and a XP VM)
I noticed that Device Manager detects it as ECP while someone claimed that only SPP would work, but I can't find a way to set it to SPP.
Anything else I can try? I guess I could return this card if I really needed to.

Not sure how much $$ you have to throw at this but I found a complete Mother board with ram and CPU on ebay with 3 ISA slots:

I've seen that link to the comm card, after you click on it to purchase it says out of stock.

Or else I would probably dive at that motherboard.

I actually have a functioning tower with an ISA slot motherboard and it's either a Pentium 2 or 3, I'll gladly give it to whoever wants it but shipping would be pricey since this thing is heavy.

I don't have $150 to spend right now (or the space for another motherboard )
However, my brother does have a Pentium~ desktop sitting around, so I could use that.
Unfortunately, I can't find that PC Comm Card anywhere else, and I'm not the most trustful of "easybuy2000.com".
Is the card I bought usable in any way, or can it not be used at all?

I'll keep that in mind, we might just consider shipping the mobo with the ram in it to make shipping cheaper. I should have the rest of the hardware, assuming it's all pretty standard.

First we have to find a comm card somewhere.

I just made an account on PSXDev and asked for an alternative to using that card. Within a few minutes, someone suggested I build this
It's a USB version of that card, and it does work on newer OS, so you're not stuck with Windows 95/98.

Oh shit! Thanks for that link! I'll try making one of these soon and if it's working good I'll upload the boards or sell some premade ones. Wonder if there is software to hack codes with this?
