Have the Sound Test in the US version(if this isn't possible, then a Music Mod will do)

  • #2
    Try here:
    http://www.caitsith2.com/gsf/

It has the music ripped to GSF format, so you can listen to it with winamp.

It's very likely that this would require an assembly hack to make it work. I'm not sure if any devices on the market allow for GBA assembly hacks.

its funny..the japanese version of ToP had a sound test that you can access right at the games title screen...and now for the US version of the game they removed it fully..the jap version also had a debug menu too, which you can acess at the title screen as well...its still in the US version(the text for it is still there) but access for it was removed from the title screen(I used a title screen menu mod for the Jap version to access it, that same code on a different adress for the US version...wouldn't let you access it, along with the sound test, which made me beleive it was removed in the US version)....

The text for the song names is still there, so it could still be present, just not accessible. I used a menu position code to try stuff that comes after 'Customize', but it didn't work.

I found that...I also found a menu option mod that mods which option takes you where where you choose(its in area 0201a398 if you wanted to look at it) and none of the digits loaded up the sound test...00 starts a new game 02 loads a saved game 03 loads the custom screen 04 reloads the title screen 05 and 06 loads the bonus games and everything after that either loads a new game or resets the game...

04 is the Sound Test in the JP Version. Whether or not the data for it still exists in the US version is not yet known.

In the meanwhile, my question has not yet been answered.

Did that, couldn't find song names in either version.

Did find evidence of a Debug Menu, however:
                        NORMAL MAP
                        <bh:00>1 : FIELD MAP
                        <bh:00><bh:00>2 : BATTLE
                        <bh:00>3 : ARCHE
                        <bh:00><bh:00>4 : *TEST PAD
                        <bh:00><bh:00>5 : *TEST NORMAL MAP
                        <bh:00><bh:00><bh:00>6 : *TEST BATTLE
                        <bh:00><bh:00><bh:00>7 : *TEST SOUND
                        <bh:00><bh:00><bh:00><bh:00>*** debug mode

allready did...you can access it in the jap version on the title screen(the debug menu), but they seemed to removed access to it on the title screen on the US version...KI don't know where else you can access it at...maybe ugetab could have more luck then I did?

                              Any progress yet?

Also, from what I recall, the debug mode(05)took you to Ymir Forest in both versions.
