    Re: GSC2000 help

You're probably having the same problem that Luigi is having with using xlink95 with an xploder. All of the nt-based versions of windows (2000 and xp mostly) have a thing about blocking direct port access. I think gscc comes with a "giveio.sys" driver, and an option on one of the menus to install it. That should in theory fix the problem. But then, it had serious problems with staying connected even on old versions of windows.

Generally the best thing to do was to use the official utils to start the comms connection (by pressing the detect button), and then start using gscc after you've loaded a game.

No, gscc2000 works fine on xp. It gave me no trouble. What often did give me trouble with a gspro/pc set-up was that it was so damn testy at the psx end. With the power off , keep gscc2000 or 2002 open and try playing with the gs moving it out ever so slightly (maybe at one end). Even try plugging and unplugging it and try almost but not quite putting it tight. Each time then turn it on and click detect settings. When you finally get it use tape, a big rubberband or whatever and secure it (I had to prop a small block of wood underneath the end that hooks to the cable). This is why I have two psx's , one is always at the computer for hacking. I always have that problem when I take it loose and set it up again.

That is one thing that I like about xplorer fx, the cable mounts on the side and is less likely to leverage away from the psx.

Bleh, I totally forgot about that problem. Must be a side effect of not having been able to do any hacking that way.

Ah, heh. I remember I had the very same prob of loose seating on the GS parallel port...I just propped it up with a book.
