  • Games with more than one version

As far as gameshark codes these are all the U.S. games that have two versions called 1.0 and 1.1*

    alundra
    area 51
    doom
    driver
    gran turismo
    metal gear solid
    mortal kombat trilogy **
    oddworld abe's oddysee
    soul blade
    tekken 2
    tomb raider
    tomb raider 3
    tomb raider last revelation
    twisted metal 3
    wwf warzone

"AND" the following game has three versions 1.0 1.1 and 1.2
    gran turismo 2

(did not count thrill kill as they are two different discs with different slus numbers slus-00752 and the beta version slus-12345

*Tomb raider games are reversed. 1.1 is the original and 1.0 is the reissue.

**two versions of Mortal kombat trilogy are recognised but there may be three! Read "Versions and revisions" at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortal_Kombat_Trilogy the last two versions seem to share the same gameshark codes but may still prove to be slightly different.

    Anyone know of any others?

Weren't there two versions of Final Fantsay 7? I recall seeing two versions of some codes that were for the early version, and for the later Greatest Hits version.

Not as I recall but, you could be right (I thought both used the same codes). I used Cmgsccc as a reference but they are far from complete (I submitted codes twice for the other version of tomb raider 3 and they never posted them or made any codes for the other version).

Re: Games with more than one version

Both the original and greatest hits versions of FF7 are identical, though I believe they may actually have a different license number.

Another game with two versions: Armored Core: Master of Arena

There are actually quite a few games with alternate versions around in each region, but I can't think of the others.

Okay. Maybe I was mistaken about FF7.

Would you count "Final Doom" as being lumped in with Doom 1? Because if so, then it would technically count as a three-version game, not a two version one, right? Not that it's overly important or anything.

Also, some of the Final Fantasy games had Greatest Hits versions. I think FF7 was one of them, or maybe it was just FF8. Whether or not they split up the code lists or not is another story, and I'm not sure. I played FF7 again last year, but I didn't use codes that time, so it's been years since I bothered to look.

              wow almost three years barried,
as for Final Doom being just a diffrent version of Doom yeah i could kinda see that.
as LiquidMan Zero already said FF7 had the GH and standard discs but the games were identicle.
