This will probably sound stupid to you pro hackers. I am totally new to the hacking world for PS2 (anything for that matter). I have used a GS for about 7 years now but i had never tried to hack any codes for games... partly because i had no idea on how to do so but also because i didnt feel the need to. I now have the need to do so. I am tired of waiting on people at the GS site and hearing bullsh** about online cheaters for games like Socom when i dont even have a net adapter for the PS2 and would use it if i did. And not only that but the codes posted by them and another site that i have been visting have been giving codes that solve one problem but create another that is almost as bad. Sorry for getting off on a rant here but i could us some info on the things i need to be able to hack these Da** games and not turn blue in the face from yelling at the tv monitor because of them. As i said before i probably sound like a total idiot but i could use the info so i could help myself for a change instead of putting up the the bull from other sites.

try to contact GMO he might be able to help you out.but is kinda hard to hack ps2 right now due to the fact not much hacking resource to use with.

Man, you're right...the staff's mostly been incredibly busy with other things, including the real world, heh. I'm returning to civialdom in three days, which should allow more time for me to mess with PS2 hacking at some point, probably, and GSHI has just started to return from its state of dormancy. We're preparing to jump into the world of actual business, creating a few peripherals, namely hacking devices for the PS2/PS3, and hopefully other systems soonafter. It's surprising that we really didn't get into PS2 hacking yet, though...

ya know what might be good for most ppl is to make a video of you actually searching for the codes with the ps2dis,kindal ike that flash video i made into an avi GMO.this way ppl can read along while they see how its done,i can provide you or any1 with the proper programs.

thats kinda funny i cant remember who i was talkin to about that but i had that exact same idea lol . it would be like them disc u can buy that teach u how to use like adobe and all that .. lol . Video Tut.. it would not be hard to do and i have the hardware/Software to Edit and all that crap .. (i do video editing for a living lol) but the thing is .. to do something on that mass of scale.. do we distribute it on DVD or to Download lol . :P
or both. i know if we go say on a DVD format we can put all kinds of Stuff from Retro hacking to ps2 hackin and also put source code on the DVD it self .. Elfs anything that we basicly want .. built into sections ..
or we can just distribute it as an DVD.iso and do the same things we would normaly do on a standerd DVD just they would have to download it and burn it or just load it into a Virt DVD.. i would not mind starting something up like this .. but here is the thing ..
what would we put on it

Standerd sections
Ps2 Hackin
GBA Hackin
GC Hackin
DC hackin
Retro Hackin (Older systems like Nes/Snes/Gen/and the rest)


on the DVD i can put my Database of elfs on to it ..
and other intresting Crap i have.. :P
like Text files of the guides ..

thats a good i dea but i was thinking more the lines of a download where whoever was making the codes would have a mic to explain what he/she is doing,an example of each thing,then as time goes on we can have advanced techniques in the videos,if you want to do the dvds then i can do gba and retro systems as well a few of the other ppl here it can be a huge collaboration.We can get word out if the video is good and we can maybe sell it,cheap of course say $5,i heard talks of a GSHI store and this is a good first seller,if not free is good too i dont mind,what do the rest of you think?

Putting the binaries from games in something like that is probably illegal, even if it wasn't that way not too long ago.

well then how about a game most ppl have and ahve them use their SLUS or whatever other lefs and use that to make codes this way very legal,a good game im sure alot of ppl have is GTA or FFX or you guys can come up with sumthing.

It looks to me like the greatest hope of getting any kind of cheat searching device going for PS2 is parasyte. But he don't seem to have much interest in it. Kinda sux cause I might of wanted to hack this system someday.
