  • [REQUEST][N64] Carmageddon 64 [NUS-NCDY-EUR] - Region Protection Code

    Good afternoon!

Recently I bought the cartridge "Carmageddon 64" (PAL version), and when trying to play using the Passport Plus v.3.1, I get the screen that I show in the picture, where you can read the message: "This game is not designed for use on this system."

    Could anyone help me?

Lots of N64 games have region protection like that, if anyone in the future would be willing to make codes/patches for them.
I posted the list I came up with a while back here:

And here is the list of games that will NOT boot on a system from a different region than what the game was made for, without some type of region bypass cartridge/cheat [or EverDrive64]:

Years late with filling your request :-)

My first time making a region check bypass code for N64.
I personally tested it on real hardware after finding where I had stored the system, and updated the Everdrive OS to enable GameShark support.

There's two Europe releases of the game, and this code is for this particular one:
      Carmageddon 64 (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es).z64
      80087184 0014

This code will allow the game to play on NTSC systems.

Here's another code, for the other European released version of the game:
      Carmageddon 64 (Europe) (En,Fr,Es,It).z64
      80087604 0014

Wow, I just got connected and immediately I see this! Thanks Mezmorize!

As far as possible, I do the test.

Sorry for my delay in returning but the work takes me most of the time.

Is it possible for you to make a similar code for F-1 World Grand Prix II (Europe) (En, Fr, De, Es)(Serial NUS-NF2P-EUR)?

          Give this code a try:

          F-1 World Grand Prix II (E) [N64]
          Regional Lockout Bypass
          8000FCC9 0000

Please let me know if it works, as I didn't yet test on real hardware. :-)

            - On Carmageddon 64, I clarify that the cartridge I have has the serial NUS-NCDY-EUR (I have attached an image) and that this is the version that has zombies with green blood. This was what I got when I tested both codes:

            1) When I tried code 80087184 0014, the same message continued to appear and it did not allow me to go through. At any moment I get the cartridge of Carmageddon 64 Serial NUS-NCDX-EUU which I guess is the one that has zombies with red blood. Since I have it, I try and let you know if it worked.

            2) When trying with the second code (80087604 0014), it worked !, the message no longer comes out and allows me to play.

            - About the code for F1 World Grand Prix II, only a black screen comes out and does not pass there (the same happens if I try to pass without any active code).

Sorry about that, not sure how I wrote down the wrong address.
              This should be it:
              8000FCBD 0000

Works! Finally I can play the improvement of this title that I liked so much in its first part.

I already thought that having bought the Passport Plus and these two PAL cartridges had been a bad investment but thanks to you I will be able to use them.

I plan to keep buying other PAL titles because some of them did not reach this market and it is the only way they are not in Japanese, some others have things that the USA did not have ... if I need help again I will turn to you again!

                Many thanks Mezmorize.

Sorry for my delay in reappearing but the work does not leave me much free time so I hope you understand and apologize.

This message will be a long one so I will try to be as clear as I can.

                  1) I will return where it is with Carmageddon 64 PAL version:

As I put in post # 6, days later I received the other PAL version of the game "Carmageddon 64", that of the serial NUS-NCDX-EUU, so having tested both cartridges with the codes of post # 3 I got this:

                  Carmageddon 64 (NUS-NCDX-EUU) - 80087184 0014 - Dinosaurs with green blood

                  Carmageddon 64 (NUS-NCDY-EUR) - 80087604 0014 - Zombies with green blood

In The Cutting Room Floor ( they say that there are 2 European versions: One has zombies with red blood and the other has dinosaurs with green blood, but as I put up, I have 2 European versions of the game ( photo 1 ) and only one matches so it seems that there are two but three that exist. Since I received the second cartridge I have tried to periodically observe the publications that I see on ebay and I find that they are always the same two versions that I have ... perhaps there is another?

In the same post # 3 you also say that there are 2 European versions and, after the region, the following is read:

Carmageddon 64 (Europe) (En, Fr, De, Es) .z64

Carmageddon 64 (Europe) (En, Fr, Es, It) .z64

If I do not understand badly that means languages, right? ... Does the game have a language selection? Where is this option? When I enter "Options" in both cartridges I do not see anything that can change the language (photo 2). How can I access this option?

                  2) Finally, this week I received the cartridge "Rakuga Kids" PAL version, serial NUS-NKRP-EUR (photo 3), unlike the previous ones it does not bring region blocking but only requires resolution correction, could you help me with this please?
