  • Problem with Metroid Prime (GC) Moon Jump code

    I have set up nintendont and USB Loader GX to use the following Ocarina codes:

    GM8E01
    Metroid Prime

    Must Be on 2
    * 043CB1A8 3C808000
    * 043CB1AC 93E4183C
    * 043CB1B0 809F0008
    * 043CB1B4 4BDE05A8
    * 041AB758 4821FA50

    (m)
    * 20379530 4E800020
    * E0000000 80008000
    * 2130DDC4 7FE3FB78
    * 0400183C 00000000
    * E0000000 80008000

    Moon Jump Hold B
    * 287A55A4 00000200
    * 0446BABC 41200000
    * E2000001 80008000

    I followed this guide and decrypted them clicked on the java app made by james0x57 "Each code has a verifier line" and converted them into the above format.

    The Codes I got them from here I am using an 1.0 version of the game as Scandashing is availble and my iso is from my disk which is the DOL-GM8E-0-00 JPN version, below are the codes in it's original format.

    (m)
    1 A8Y0-9P2B-AHG6Z
    2 FFD1-HMDG-4VAA4
    3 VU90-GH61-40UQ1
    4 TWGR-PYWY-898BQ
    5 E9FZ-A3QA-YCERP
    6 G3K2-4ZJG-UYRTH
    7 Q484-9NKD-6C9EG
    8 ECZQ-827T-WUCPE
    9 E9FZ-A3QA-YCERP

    This Code Must Be On
    1 2VRX-QNW3-UX7UH
    2 7HFR-GGC2-WAPNT
    3 RB26-E7H5-MCJPE
    4 5VA8-0ZAK-4X8NY
    5 DM3B-M7VR-VGVN1
    6 P19G-QCDR-Q7FR7

    Moonjump (Hold B)
    1 PM73-FWKZ-XMPM0
    2 JVZN-F5R3-YNMYB
    3 DWER-3U8M-9B1F2

    But once I load my game, bam, the moon jump code is not working.

    There is a chance I did it wrong, so could any one convert them correctly along these other codes (For Metroid Prime 2: Echoes)

    (M) (Datel)
    6QC5-30T6-F3Q31

    These ones were obtained from here

    So no one can tell me if I converted the codes right? I really want to know because there are several bomb jumps I simply do not have the patience to attempt to anymore and I am near a rage breaking point.

    I found a different set of codes on BSfree but those are either converted wrong or do not work, and I have no way of testing or knowing what I am doing wrong.

    For reference:

    Must be on

    EYEN-UE26-JPMT9
    PV2E-34D5-X1BGJ
    KUKJ-P9N9-09CNM
    Z7W8-0A3C-2FXK3
    E9FZ-A3QA-YCERP Codejunkies.com

    This Code Must Be On

    H7DQ-NHVX-7GKQ0
    8KKE-WGD3-VEAP4
    06JJ-CPAP-1KNKH
    4ZMC-DT68-CX7U7
    G557-MEBT-PA9P8
    MD7T-72GD-W9MC6

    Moonjump hold B.
    M7CZ-YV1J-91XBK
    ZT2J-4424-0ETXD
    ANX9-HXJ0-7UHE5

    Converted they are like this:

    Must be on alt 1
    * 2037A2C8 4E800020
    * E0000000 80008000

    Must be on alt 2
    * 043CC26C 3C808000
    * 043CC270 93E4183C
    * 043CC274 809F0008
    * 043CC278 4BDDFCEC
    * 041ABF60 4822030C

    Moon Jump alt 1 hold b
    * 287A6864 FDFF0200
    * 0446CB38 41200000
    * E2000001 80008000

        I'll see what I can do, I do not have a dedicated gaming rig so I have no idea if my desktop can handle dolphin while it's running a game.

          Ah... the ol' Metroid bomb-jumps. Back in the ol' days, we used controllers with auto-fire. Or, we just sat there for hours getting our rhythm down and hoping we didn't screw up. You had to be careful not to let your excitement speed up your rhythm, or back down you went.

            Is it European or Japanese? Japan is GM8J01.
            http://gamehacking.org/?game=54383

            Don't forget the site does code conversion for you. It says the Moon Jump for Gecko is:
            2878EBC4 00000200
            044549A8 41000000

              My games is north american, but the disc itself was manufactured in japan (hence the JPN bit) I'll try tomorrow that code after I make the ram dump.

              But I simply got fed up attempting to get the energy tank of magmoor caverns that is on the tunnel that leads to pedranha drifts (the one you use when accessing for first time the area) it's one of the worst placed tanks ever given you need to be careful and lucky due plataform only whistanding two bomb blasts.

              And the possibility of sequence breaking on MEtroid Prime and MP 2 echoes is too tempting, mostly because the trilogy version of the Echoes is engineered to be a pain to sequence break.

                @Lee4 I cannot make a ram dump, as soon as I tell HxD to open the RAM and selecting Dolphin the executable crashes.

                @rimsky82 the codes of Gamehacking.org do not work for me, neither on Nintedont, usbloaderGX or dolphin, enabling the moon jump code does nothing, I am starting to think the codes that were hacked were for the 1.2 version (gamers choice, which altered a lot of stuff from using a faster loader to adding a ton of invisible walls that you cannot bypass)

                If either of you want to help I am making two compressed files of my iso for both MP1 and MP2 echoes.

                  that not how to make RAM dump for Emulators

                  Dolphin has build-in RAM dump feature

                  create a shortcut to Dolphin just add -d to target
                  Example
                  "C:\Dolphin-win-x86-v3.5\Dolphin.exe -d"

                    Ok I did that, what next? (the tutorial of YT told me to open HxD seek the Game ID thats on the left side, then edit>select block>copy that on a new page>save as GAME.bin)

                    opening the game now makes a side window to pop up, it gives me a lot of hex numbers, I assume thats the ram but I have no idea how to save it.

                            @lee4 I'll test it tomorrow, I want to know if it's not much a bother if you could do the same check for the Metroid Prime 2 Ram I dumped (MP2.raw) to the code of moon jump that is present on the Gamehacking.org (28704C24 00000200 moon jump hold B)

                            I also guess that also explains why the joker of the phazon beam did not work, could you post the joker code too please? I assume that the button B value is 200?
