  • xplorer compatability question

Will "XPLORER FX" (not exploder) work on a US psx console? There is so much mis-information on the xplorer. (I believe it is different for the PS2 versions than it is for the psx)

    Re: xplorer compatability question

Yeah, but I don't know if there's an option to run it in NTSC mode. I think there is, but I'm not certain. Problem is even if you have a tv that can deal with a PAL signal, an NTSC playstation can't correctly output the signal. You might be alright if you've got a vertical hold adjustment...

The Xploder, (e)Xplorer, and Code Breakers for playstation are effectively the same device that's just been renamed. The major difference is in the versions. An FX cart has some extra functions that aren't on the older models, so you can use an older version of the software on one, but not the other way around. In fact... You'd be able to reflash it with an older Xploder version that's already in NTSC (assuming it's got the 25 pin port on it).
