  • Save Anywhere (Owl Statue) request for Zelda Collection: Majora's Mask (GC, AR, NTSC)

    Hi guys,

I've recently gotten back to playing The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition for GameCube (NTSC of course), and I was wondering if it would be theoretically possible to hack an AR or Gecko code for Majora's Mask that allows you to save the game anywhere as if you had gone to an owl statue, rather than saving with the Song of Time? If someone here could find the RAM address(es?) that is used for when the game is saved at an Owl Statue (I'm curious to if every Owl Statue has its own RAM address for when it is saved at, or if they all use the same RAM address), that would be awesome.

The reason for this request is, earlier today (and a couple of other times in the past), I was on The Cutting Room Floor website and noticed Majora's Mask has some well-hidden leftovers from Ocarina of Time (including a fully operational save function that's identical to how you save in Ocarina of Time, whether it's saving after a Game Over, or just saving in the middle of gameplay), and there's some GameShark codes that allow you to bring up either of the two versions of the OoT save menu (D01FB9E1 0020 + 813FDBEC 0007 lets you bring up the menu save screen; D01FB9E1 0020 + 813FDBEC 0009 lets you bring up the Game Over save screen)...however, these codes aren't quite the same as the one I'm looking for; these two pairs of codes both utilize the effects of using the Song of Time since they reset the player's location to South Clock Town, and they set the time to Dawn of the First Day.

    Anyway, my thanks in advance.
