  • GB game question - Ironman X-O Manowar

I saw that the only code for this game is a game genie code to get to the developer's menu. There are no infinite energy/life codes like most games have. I tried to hack a few, as I have been moderately successful with GB games, but no such luck on this. I find it hard to believe with Ironman's popularity that this game has been simply overlooked, so I am wondering if it is just one of those games that it is impossible to make cheats for?

Probably because it's one of the worst games ever.

I found the inf energy code, and I'm pretty sure you did too. You probably encountered two codes, one of them didn't work and the other one gave you an "invalid gameshark code" or something. That's because VBA's cheat engine sucks. If you open the game on another emulator, the inf energy code should work. If the code starts with a "90", then change it to "01". I don't know why VBA starts gameshark codes with a "90" sometimes, but with "01" it should work.

Anyway, I found an invincibility code too, in case you want it:
    01029AD6

    And inf flying bar:
    013EBDDA

How about those in Game Genie format?

I don't know how to make gamegenie codes. Use the site's convertor for that, it will probably work.

You can't make Game Genie codes like that unless you have ROM addresses.

Yeah I know, but I never really know when it's a ROM or RAM address. I just convert them to Gamegenie, and if they don't work, then I know it was a RAM address.

The GS shifts the addresses around so the above codes real ram addresses are:

              Invincibility
              01029AD6
              real address is D69A

              Inf Flying Bar
              013EBDDA
              real address is DABD

              GB/GBC Memory Map:
$D000-$DFFF Internal RAM - Bank 1-7 (switchable - CGB only)
              $C000-$CFFF Internal RAM - Bank 0 (fixed)

              $4000-$7FFF Cartridge ROM - Switchable Banks 1-xx
              $0150-$3FFF Cartridge ROM - Bank 0 (fixed)

as you can see the codes above fall into the RAM range so hopefully this will help you determine which is RAM or ROM.

Thanks. Even though I know I'll forget all about this eventually. I don't really keep track if an address is ROM or RAM since to me it doesn't make a difference considering I only use cheats with emulators.

Hybrid, why do some of those genie codes show up as RAW on the database?
