Romhacking.net has recently posted a hack of the original Legend of Zelda called "Legend of Link", made by Infidelity. This is one of the best LOZ hacks I've seen for awhile! It has many different items from the original LOZ, including some from SNES LOZ:A Link to the past.
I'm now playing the game without codes to show my grandson how to do it.(It'll take time, as his schoolwork is a priority over coming to my home to play VGs.) However, I've gathered some intel about this hack & using codes with it. Here we go:
First, the hack must be patched to a PRG - 0 rom; it won't work with any other edition.(It's easily patched with the Lunar patching tool.) Second, it'll only work on certain emus, which are listed on the link found in the link on the Romhacking page.I'm currently using the latest FCEUX version; it won't work on older ones.
Now, for my code intel so far. The results for the FCEU "Items" codes are somewhat altered. Here they are:
Candle = Super hookshot
Meat = pendant
Wand = Pegasus Boots
Raft = Flippers
Lion Key = Hammer
Bracelet = Glove
Book = Blue Lantern(value of 02 = Red Lantern. Believe me, you want THIS lantern, as you only hafta press "B" once to keep it lit inside a dungeon, while you hafta keep "B" depressed all the time with the Blue Lantern. With the Red Lantern, you must press "B" again when Link emerges from an Item Room in a dungeon.)
Since there's no Lion Key, you must use Fangs' Infinite key code, 0663: 63 if you want infinite keys. (There are places on the Overworld map where you need keys.)
There's now a Magic bar, as some of the items need magic to power them. Here's a code I made for Infinite magic:
0679: E0
You no longer use rupees for Arrows. My Infinite Regular Arrows code is:
0677:63
(Still looking for a Silver Arrow code)
Wear a Blue Ring
0662:01
Wear a Red Ring
0662:02
If I haven't listed the FCEU code, it either works normally, or has no effect.
As for GG codes, I've only experimented with a few so far. Nolberto 82's "Hit Anywhere" codes work.
When I find an "Infinite Silver Arrow" code, I'll post it here.
