Space Hunter Staff Roll Help

Hello.
I was trying to access the credits screen from Space Hunter for the Famicom. I know you have to go to a room, kill all the enemies, and then collect a letter to get it. However, when I get the letter, all it shows me is the programmers. There are other credits in the ROM so I know I'm supposed to get other credits screens, but it just stays on the programmer screen until I press a button. I was wondering if anyone here knew how to fix the problem? I have tried it on both FCEUX 2.1.4a and 2.2.2 and I still have the same problem. I think it has something to do with a glitched timer in the RAM but I couldn't find anything. Thanks!

Uhh, what does this have to do with cheats?

I thought maybe a PAR cheat would fix it.

I played the game and I remember thinking why is the letter showing me one credit. I think you need to press down or select to scroll down to see the rest.

That didn't seem to work for me. I thought maybe you have to wait a long time, but that doesn't seem to work either. I thought there would be a RAM address that was set on a timer before it goes to the next screen.
I can only press one button before it returns me to the game. I also tried this on VirtuaNES. I disabled all the cheats before going into the room and there's still nothing.
I also ran across another problem where I can't hit the second boss. I downloaded multiple ROMs of this game, too.
