  • Strider 2 (PSX) cheat problem

Hi, I'm using an ActionReplay/Gameshark (3.3) cheating unit, and it works fine with games like Mega Man X 4, etc.
But there seems to be a problem with Strider 2 (NTSC-U version). The game requires a master/enable code. Once the master code is activated, the game boots up without trouble, but the cheats don't work..Things like Invincibility or other cheats don't seem to have an effect at all..? I've experienced the same problem with other games, that also need a master code. What could this be? Please help.

play on ps1 usa, pal , japanese model?

ActionReplay/Gameshark (3.3) is CD, which company made the CD?

most PS1 master codes are just to bypass the modchip and region lockout

I play on a native PAL system (mod-chipped). It's actually a device not a CD. It's called "Super Game Converter" made by "Innovation".
It works terrific, but always when a master code is needed the actual cheats don't work...?
I've had the same problem with Dino Crisis.

        well there your problems:

        a pal ps1 modded,

knockoff cheat device does not support advance codetypes were introduced in legit AR/GS v2.2 or higher

most ps1 game release in 1999 has some type of restructions like anti modchip check

        you sure have ntsc version?

insert your game on your computer look inside the cd for
        SLUS, SCUS = USA
        SLES, SCES = PAL

I've managed to fix the error...I don't need master codes for the games mentioned before. My modchip boots them up properly without them, and lastly the cheats now work as they should! Thanks for your help.

P.S.: I overlooked your last post, yes it's the North American NTSC-U/C version. - Only playable on a US or modded PS1.
I don't play PAL PSX games, because the screen size is severely reduced, and not to forget about the slower overall speed at 50hz.
