  • One method for editing PEC codes for EPSXE...

If you're not satisfied with the clunky "user database" of PEC, here's a way to edit its permanent database...

I first installed "PEC Cheat Database Editor" by Aldo Vargas(freeware). I had to install the file MSVBM50.DLL into my PC, but I already had a.DLL installer, so no prob there. I then opened the PEC folder with "open file location" & extracted the "codelist.inf" file to my desktop so I could easily open with the Database Editor. I was then able to enter all the codes I chose, either for games already present in the codelist, or add new games. The use of the editor is very easy, much like the FCEU cheat window (When you enter a code, description, and game name, be sure to SAVE them with the editor! It automatically puts up the name of an existing game you're adding codes for.)

I entered codes from the database here, and from both Notebook files and .cht files I already had, with no difficulty at all, and the codes work perfectly, except for those codes which never worked with EPSXE to start with. They're as permanent as the rest of the database, except you can simply repeat the process above if you wish to alter them again. This greatly improves the use of PEC.

Oh, yes...Don't forget to return the codelist.inf file to the PEC file when done.
I come from a smart family...In the Civil War, my great-grandpa fought for the WEST.
Working...
