  • Could someone help clarify how to use some codes? -- Breath of Fire 2, snes

    Hey all!

So I'm looking into the Breath of Fire 2 (SNES) codes, and could use some help understanding what I'm seeing. I'd like to edit items in the inventory and some spells. The list here has lots of item and spell codes, but they don't seem to make sense. I mean, there are codes for changing a spell in a character's slot 1, but no values for spells to put into that slot. There are values for spells on the list, but they don't fit into the formula for adding them into a character's spell list. Clearly I am missing something, but I don't know what. Can anyone offer some insight to this?

When you're looking at one of the codes here, there are some small check boxes on the far right side. Clicking on the "v" (Expand Code Box) will show you any notes for that code.

Um, I do know this. The codes just don't add up.

Take the spells. Say I want to give the Hero the warp spell in slot 1. I can look up the hero spell codes, it gives me the code for that slot (in this case the code is 7E5420:??) but there is no listing of spells for those last two digits, nothing I can find that says the warp spell's value is ___. I can experiment with this, but it seems a glaring error. The tab for 'spell values' lists has the same codes as for the 'spell codes' which seems a copy/paste error to me. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but it doesn't look right as it is. Can anyone verify, or have I missed something?

I believe the values weren't imported properly from the old DB buthere is a list:

Ok, so I'm NOT imagining things. That's good to know lol. Thanks for the help!

(somewhat ironically Helder, I almost said 'thanks X!" there. Just an FYI).

I'll add these to the site here once I get to a computer. We don't want people running into the same problem when they want to use the same codes.
