It seems odd to see such a topic ignored. I'm curious as to what is necessary, best sources for what exists, everything. Do all saves have checksums/encryption to attend to? I see there are editors for things, but as a hacker I want to know how it all works. I know people that used modded weapons in Borderlands, for example, without a modded console or anything. I'm just kicking around ideas at this point, but once the next gen arrives this year or next, screwing with Xbox a bit might be entertaining. Considering I own over 300 games for my 360, I could probably start a hell of a project, assuming I ever find time to play them all. lol

Save editor/similiar like forced file edit, its the final solution for editing such games their coded by protected command
I tried this method on psp pal games(hakay hen z parte1),the program specific for this game only, its very cool within simply guided txt by the author,
once, sucessfully, but within any clue how it supossed to be;P
For 360 cases anyway I saw it few years ago, someone has edit 360 games, let said it come from one of famous platinum games, wht he doin afterall?
Swap the bodies I'm sure;P
I don't tested my self, coused it gonna blow my brain only few minutes attempt lol
Maybe he's only used simply whex or other similiar(isobiuister can doin this one to) method to access the unwrited address tht may not suitable to edited while your on realtime mode like debugger/scan style
I said besided an fact!!!
But who knows lol:3dood! im a uniter, not a divider

I always try to hack my saves on Xbox but many times there is a checksum and the generic ones can be resigned/calculated using Modio or Horizon. There are some games that have unique or more complex checksums and they also sometimes have multiples files in that save where the data is stored with its unique checksum which those 2 programs don't handle. There are a bunch of forums out there on the topic and I have followed it for a little while but never went in too deep.Spoiler Alert! Click to view...

Well, I'd be interested to know which sites/forums provide real info about specific games' files, checksums, etc.Originally posted by helder View PostI always try to hack my saves on Xbox but many times there is a checksum and the generic ones can be resigned/calculated using Modio or Horizon. Sucks nobody seems to keep a complete DB of modded saves anywhere. It'd be nice to know what's been done, which games have checksums (where, and how nasty), etc. What the hell is this Xploder for 360? Obviously like the original Xbox "Action Replay" but it'd be nice to know what's in it. Come to think of it. I wonder if there's any homebrew software to mess with original Xbox memory card using the adapter that came with the Xbox AR. I suppose I could see what original Xbox games still work on 360 and get the saves that way. I always wanted to mess with Genma Onimusha. lol
It seems there's an Xploder and another commercial thing for PS3 saves as well. interesting.

Yea the PS3 had the Game Genie!? if I'm not mistaken where it takes your save and decrypts it for you on their server and after your edits gets sent to their server and gets encrypted again. Obviously they don't want people stealing then way to decrypt the saves or the checksums as thats what I believe they are doing to the saves.Spoiler Alert! Click to view...

The Xploder is just for transfering game saves to and from your Xbox 360. I have one. You put the tiny disk in your computer to resign gamesaves, and then you transfer them to your Xbox 360 with a USB stick or cable. I have the older style Xbox 360, which it works with, unless you want to open and disconnect something for the newer style console. I plug the thing in, and then attach the hard drive on top of it. It allows me to see anything on my Xbox 360. I never really used it for much beyond turning on some cheats to run through everything in the Left 4 Dead games. It didn't seem like anything too special.Last edited by bungholio; 03-21-2013, 02:43:44 PM.

Has nobody in the homebrew scene come up with their own PS3 save tool yet? Everything with this generation is a fucking money grab, even unlicensed cheat software that does borderline illegal things.Originally posted by helder View PostYea the PS3 had the Game Genie!? if I'm not mistaken where it takes your save and decrypts it for you on their server and after your edits gets sent to their server and gets encrypted again. Does anyone know of a good byte swapping tool? Like Big endian to little endian? The reason I ask is because NFS Most Wanted on 360 uses some sort of byte swap so that you can't use PC saves on 360, I hacked my PC profile to unlock the hidden/bonus cars for use in career, here are two examples:
First 2 bytes of PC Header ASCII: 20CM
First 2 bytes of X360 Version Header ASCII: MC02
I think they are mirrored somehow, I've tried flipping them around several times with Hex Editor Neo, but to no avail.Last edited by 47iscool; 03-24-2013, 07:07:21 PM.

Huh. I wonder if PowerPC is big endian like N64 was. Sounds that way. If I'm right, the byteswap is simple, it's just not easy to find programs to do it. I have plans of adding that feature to the new version of Renegade I'm working on, but I'm not there yet. Hex Workshop used to be able to byteswap whatever was highlighted or something, and HxD is supposed to be good.Originally posted by 47iscool View PostDoes anyone know of a good byte swapping tool? p.s. That's 4 bytes. Each letter is a byte. The way the endian works is 32-bit little/big endian. Some architectures read a byte at a time, others read a 32-bit (Word, 4 bytes) at a time. So in hex you'd see 44332211 DDCCBBAA but the machine reads 11223344 AABBCCDD. Although, there are exceptions (N64 V64 roms being one of them).
