  • Help with Ps2rd & Ps2cc

I am at a loss for using PS2rd and PS2cc. I have a Free Mcboot 1.8b softmoded Slim SCPH-77003 which is already set up (and does) play games through Open PS2 loader via SMB.

    I downloaded Ps2rd 0.5.1 (all settings default)
I put ps2rd.elf, ps2rd.conf & cheats.txt in the BOOT folder of my memory card. PS2cc is on my laptop. The laptop and the slim Ps2 are connected via crossover cable.

    The settings are

    On the laptop LAN TCP/IP properties: IP address 192 168 0 2
    Subnet Mask 255 255 255 0

Ps2rd config file: IP address 192.168.0.10
    netmask 255.255.255.0
    gateway 192.168.0.1

ps2cc config file: IP address 192.168.0.10

I execute PS2cc and then turn on my slim Ps2, use ulaunch elf to execute ps2rd.elf. It gets stuck on initialising... It seems my network is not connecting automatically like it does when using Open PS2 loader SMB. What am I doing wrong?

You need it like this so they match:
    On the laptop LAN TCP/IP properties: IP address 192 168 0 1
    Subnet Mask 255 255 255 0

Ps2rd config file: IP address 192.168.0.10
    netmask 255.255.255.0
    gateway 192.168.0.1

I tried that but it still doesn't connect, just hangs on the black 'initializing...' screen in Ps2rd.elf. Ps2cc just stays on 'contacting PS2 server'. My lan connection on my laptop is not showing as connected either. It is strange because I use the same settings (Lan TCP/IP 192 168 0 2) in my first post with OPL SMB so I do know that my equipment is capable of network interface with my slim PS2. Any more ideas? Must things be executed in a specific order and what is this 'PC' folder in PS2rd with ntpbclient.exe, pthreadGC2.dll, ntpbclient etc?

This could be the reason according to misfire: http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/show...13&postcount=3

Thanks, but you misunderstand my post. I am not trying to use OPL in conjunction with PS2rd (I am trying to use PS2rd with genuine retail PS2 DVDs) I was just pointing out that I am capable of using it so as to point out that I have successfully networked my equipment with a different program. ie I am certain that it is not the cables or PS2 at fault and fairly certain it is not the Win Xp laptop. So by process of elimination that only leaves the program or the way I am using it...

When I go to the memory editor tab in PS2cc I get the error message: "NTPB client error Client busy or not connected. Please check your request and hack again"
My laptop's LAN shows a big red cross for not connected.

            On the laptop LAN TCP/IP properties: IP address 192 168 0 1

Use a 1 and not a 2. Your PC's IP Address should be the exact same as ps2rd's gateway address.

Make sure you are connecting your pc and ps2 with a crossover ethernet cable instead of a normal ethernet cable.

Yes, I tried setting it to 1. It didn't make a difference.

Yes, my PS2 is definitely connected to the laptop via crossover cable. I am able to play games over OPL shared network folder with this same cable.

Never mind, got it working now with help of misfire. It was a case of not putting the game in console before executing PS2rd and a case of an incompatible game. Thanks for all your help.
