  • Need RAM dumps of Zelda - Twilight Princess [GCN, NTSC-J/JPN] to document stuff

    Hello,
I've been working on hacking documentaries about Wind Waker and Twilight princess. Their main parts are about cheat code based level edits (remove, replace, move any object in any level, change their properties etc, etc). I have even found a lot of unused models and functionalities for known objects in Wind Waker!
Well, Twilight Princess HD will be out in less than 2 months so I have started documenting stuff about the GCN and Wii versions of it. I do have the PAL and JPN version of the Wii edition and I can get the pal version of the GCN edition from my cousin. Some online friends like to send me a few RAM dumps of the NTSC-U version of the Wii and GCN editions. Only RAM dumps of the NTSC-J version of the GCN edition are missing
So I'd like to know if there is anyone who has the NTSC-J GCN version and wouldn't mind sharing a few RAM dumps.

    Here's a list of dumps I need:
    inside of Link's house,
Area in front of Link's house,
    Ordon Village,
    Ordon Ranch,
in side of the Ordon mayor's house,
That place where you fisrt talk to Ilia and Epona,
    Ordon Woods,
    Ordon Spring,
    Faron Woods,
    Faron Spring,
    Coro's Lantern Shop,
    Sacred Grove,
    Kakariko Gorge.
    Bridge of Eldin,
    Hidden Village,
    Kakariko Village,
    Eldin Spring,
    Hot Spring,
    Kakariko Graveyard
    Sanctuary,
    Death Mountain,
    Hyrule Field,
    Great Bridge of Hylia,
    Hyrule Castle Town,
    Castle Town Cafe Bar,
    Hyrule Castle,
    Lake Hylia,
    Zora's River,
    Zora's Domain,
    Gerudo Desert,
    Snowpeak,
    Snowpeak Top,
    Palace of Twilight

Damn, I feel really bad for requesting so much
If you want to help please give the ram dumps meaningful names

Can I do them somehow via a nintendo wii? Or do I need dolphin?

      You can use both.
Dolphin: drag and drop the dolphin.exe into cmd and write -d behind it. hit enter and the emulator should launch in debug mode.
(Or create a .bat file in the folder where Dolphin.exe is located with the content: Dolphin.exe -d)
Now go to View, and and set a tick on Memory. Now you can see the memory viewer.

Name:	ddebug.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	110.3 KB
ID:	162794

Run the game. You might have to click the start button a second time.
Go to any level and click Dump MRAM. No go to the folder documents\Dolphin\Dump\ and there should be a file named ram.raw which is 24MB large.
This is the RAM dump I need. Give it a meaningful name (like: in font of links house.raw) so the next dump won't overwrite the file.
You don't need to dump all at a time. I know I have requested a lot of dumps...

You can also use your Wii or GCN, but it'd require a USB Gecko.

Here you can see a similar documentary about Wind Waker: http://cosmocortney.ddns.net/enzy/wi...er_wiki_en.php

Damn, I wanted to help, but I can't, I don't have USB gecko and my PC bareley can run dolphin.

Well unless I could dump the save into the ehdd and then paste it for dolphin to read.
