  • DS Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky (US) Nature Modifier Request

Could someone point me in the right direction as to what name the codes for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky are listed under? I've tried several search queries, and none of them could point me in the right direction. I would find it nearly impossible to believe that a site as reputable as this one would still have ZERO codes for such a well-received game (it received overall positive reviews), especially considering it was released more than four years ago. Does this site actually have any codes for this game in its codelists, or is it just that I can't seem to find the codes, because they may have been mistakenly listed under other Mystery Dungeon titles?

The initial request (provided the codes do not already exist) still stands.

For NDS codes, it is best to check the usrcheat.dat because it has almost every released NDS code. The reason the GameHacking.org database is lacking NDS codes is because in the usrcheat.dat, the codes are not credited. However, there is a credits list for everyone who contributed to the usrcheat.dat project, but with GBATemp's cheat forum down, finding the creator for specific codes is a tedious task.
I only bother with things that interest me.

Exactly. I would have imported the cheats a long time ago if the codes were properly credited. An alternative might be to credit usrcheat.dat, and link to the list of contributers.
Please put all complaints in writing and submit them here.

Above link not working? Try here.

I think I mentioned this (minus the linking) awhile ago in #ghdevs. It would have been easier if the creator of R4CCE opened the source before abandoning the project or implemented a credits feature in the code entries.

As they say in Spanish, "Que explique mucho." That means "That explains a lot". Here I was, fussing over a few missing codes when they've been here the whole time (in the usrcheat.dat files). However, I did find some nature-modifier codes for Mystery Dungeon Sky. I might be able to find some for Time and Darkness, as well, if I look hard enough.

BTW, I can now play as whatever starter Pokemon I want (kinda sucks that you can't start as a Meowth though--he has the Map Surveyor IQ skill, but it still works when you have him as a partner, so it's all good!).

There is another batch of codes, the starter and partner pokemon modifier codes, which lists every single Pokemon available in the game--you can be either color of Celebi or Kecleon, any of all 28 versions of Unown, any of all four versions of Deoxys, et cetera. However, I would highly advise against using any Pokemon other than the starters, as using non-starters in the main story seems to shut down any ability to recruit other Pokemon into your team. This may just be an effect of using a combination of other codes, however; and this weird (and obviously unwanted) phenomenon will require further research.

However, I have had some success using the value 0x219 as the starter and partner Pokemon modifier value, and it replaces you and your partner with a "fake Bulbasaur" Poke-doll, also known as Missingno. Missingno, despite having Bulbasaur's "emoticons", is a Steel-type Pokemon, and has the Map Surveyor AND All-Terrain Hiker IQ skills. No other potential "working" starter has both of these skills simultaneously (not even Meowth).

It is possible that Missingno would have corresponded to Arceus, had he been included in the game (besides as a statue).

Perhaps you have to wait to be able to recruit Pokemon before attempting to change you or your partner's Pokemon species.

As I said before, however, this theory of changing Pokemon species possibly causing the disabling of recruitment needs further study.
