  • No$NDS Nintendo DS emulator problem

The program isn't saving my game. I've had to leave my computer on and the program open in order to pic up where I left off. The official No$NDS website has no contact information and neither does its German parent site... I *really, really* hate that shit. For what its worth, the game is New Super Mario Bros. Periodically it asks you if you want to save your game, like every time you go to a bonus Toadstool House or beat a castle. Anybody have any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Ryan

First off I'd recommend trying v2.6a (http://nocash.emubase.de/n-west-w.zip). If that doesn't work there's probably not much you can do as far as that specific game goes. The author seems to have been eaten by a land shark and/or committed to a mental institution for murder as far as anybody knows. As such contacting him may be rather difficult if not impossible.

Ah, okay. That's the same site I got my no$NDS from, and its version 2.5. Did they *just* issue 2.6 within the last day or two??

Maybe the music wont be all fuzzy with version 2.6. You'd think they'd have the kinks and shit ironed out of this thing.

      . . .

Just downloaded it. Same scratchy sound problem. BTW is there a Save command that will do a saved state save like with JNES? If there is I don't see it in the menus. It would come in really handy.

I think 2.6 is many months older than 2.6a, which came out maybe 6 months ago. The audio problem seems to show up on here too. If you know anybody who's got a Cray or perhaps a large IBM system, it might work better on a supercomputer.

Unfortunately yes, there is a savestate option... But it's completely and utterly broken except when running GBA games.

Eep, sorry, when I wrote 2.6, I meant 2.6a. The version I just deleted was 2.5.

With 2.6a, the mapscreen is smoother and not all herky-jerky. We'll see if saving inside the game actually works. That's too bad about the save state function. Which command would I use if it were a GBA game?.... Thanks, btw

It is one of the most powerful mainframe systems in the world and they cost an upwards from 17 million and up. They and the IBM BLUE are some of the worlds most power computing setups.

Think HAL 9000 minus the homicidal tendencies.

Nevermind with the sound problem, then. I just keep it turned down.

There's still the problem of saving a game. I'm afraid to turn off the emulator for fear of having to start over again.

you have to choose the right save type, I had the same problem for megaman zx but I did a search on it and found that it had to be set to EEPROM 64k ,I'm sure you can use a bigger size or smaller, but I havent had any problems saving since doing that.

Set to EEPROM 64k? How do I set the emulator to that? I just downloaded a new edition of a browser and my computer wants me to reboot. But I've been playing New Super Mario Bros for a few days and I've got pretty far. I'm afraid of losing what I've done so far. I've saved everytime the game offered to save, but that hasn't worked in the past.
