  • [WIP] The Cafe Code type for Wii U cheat codes

    Hi,
I wanted to let you know what I am currently working on a new code type documentation + code handler for cheat codes on the Wii U
The most important Code Type are now supported (Different kinds of memory writes, conditionals, load/sore int/float, in/float operations)
I'm due to update the Codehandler with new Code Types from time to time.

Since the latest firmware is exploitable (5.5.1 as of now) you could theoretically start using and creating cheat code right now!

In order to do so you will first need to set up an SD card for your Wii U:
    FAT32 is recommended.
    1. On the root of your SD card create a folder named wiiu
    2. inside there create a folder named apps
    3. Now download the Homebrew Launcher here
    4. Copy and paste the folder homebrew_launcher into the folder named apps
    5. Now download TCPGecko.elf with my codehandler here (if the link doesn't work anymore because it has been updated, go here)
    6. Extract it and copy the TCPGecko folder into apps as well. Do not rename any folders or files! TCPGecko.elf and my codehandler will be frequently updated
    7. Now put your SD Card into your Wii U
    8. Download JGeckoU here and install the latest Java environment if not already done. JGeckoU will also be frequently updated. As of now its search-functions do not work. Use TCPGecko dNET for this instead.
    9. Now turn on your Wii U and go to the system settings. Go to Internet Settings and enter TubeHax dns in order to block future system updates. However, TubeHax server can be down sometimes so I recommend to disconnect your Wii U from the AC adapter if it's not needed. (Or do it like me and get a cheap router which never sees the Internet)
    10. Ensure your Wii U and computer are connected on the same router.
    11. No open the webbrowser on your Wii U and go here to run the kernel exploit (3.0.0 - 5.5.1)
    12. Once the exploitation was successful, open the webbrowser again and run the Homebrew Launcher here
    13. You should now be in the Homebrew Launcher.
    14. Now start TCPGecko
    15. You will now see your Wii U's local IP address (192.168.1.XXX). Write it down somewhere.
    16. Now press X to install my codehandler
    17. You should now be back in the Home Menu. Launch any game (StarFox Zero and StarFox Guard freeze on the boot screen)
    18. To enable cheats open JGeckoU and enter you Wii U's IP address if it doesn't detect it automatically.
    19. Once connected go to the Cheats tab and add any cheat code. It must be in the Cafe Code format
    20. Now check all cheats you want to enable and click Send
    21. If you want to search for cheats, open TCPGecko dNET and enter your Wii U's IP into the textBox and connect

Here you can find the code type documentation.

Sorry for double posting, but it's for you to notice it
The code handler works quite well so far, and BullyWiiPlaza's tool is now capable of sending cheats to the Wii U and installs my code handler into RAM.

Here's the code type documentation: http://cosmocortney.ddns.net/enzy/ca...e_types_en.php

But I don't know if updating the database with cheats would be worth as for now since there's only a very little number of people with a Wii U <5.5.0

JGecko U can be found here: https://github.com/BullyWiiPlaza/JGe...JGecko%20U.jar
