An old PC game Chessmaster Grandmaster.
There are personality files that I can open that reference a bmp for the images that correspond to that personality.
However, I have yet to be able to decipher or display said image from the contents of likely container files.
There is a DAT file called "faces" that I opened with a hex editor but it only shows gibberish. In the personality reference file I can edit the game text
description of the personality but these files are only 4 kb and likely do not contain the image, just only refer to them by " name.bmp"
Any suggestions on how I might be able to view the images in a DAT file if they are in there? Or what other types of files I might try to open
to find the personality bmps ?
This should be a fairly low level task I suppose, but my skill set is even lower. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
