  • ROM Patcher script

Greetings everyone. I've been ROM hacking for quite a while now, and some months ago (which have turned to many months by now) I developed a small python program that takes GG codes from a .pat file and hacks them into a .bin ROM.
I tried to get it hosted by Tony Hedstrom but he doesn't seem very active lately so I thought of you. I mailed Lazy Bastard and he told me to post it here. So here I am.
Apparently, the zipfile is too big (1.41 MB), and the board says I exceed the maximum quota by 1.28 MB. Strangely enough, the max filesize for all files is 4MB Any ideas?

Hmm...looking through the vB settings, I can't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to attach a .zip file up to 4MB...I'll attach a 3MB .zip...

        *attaches*

Still can't. These are the screens I get... wait... When I try to upload the screenshot it says "Upload of file failed".

          Here's the screens I get:

I put it into photobucket. Colors are a bit strange cause I saved it as gif in paint.

I tested upload ability using a test user in the Registered Users group (the group you're in), and got the same results you did. I'll check it out.

All right; there was an incorrect maximum set for total attachments per user for the Registered Users group. It should work fine now.

                Upload Errors
                Patcher.zip:
                Upload of file failed.

I'll try IE for a change.

Bleh, upload failed on both Firefox and IE. Mind if I mail the thing over?

Sure. Just send it to [email protected].

I've no clue why you still aren't able to upload it, though...

This is getting very stupid very fast. Yahoo returned a failure notice and gmail doesn't allow me to send zipfiles with exes in them. AND uploading still doesn't work for me. I think it's gonna be some time before I can actually send you this. I'll try hotmail next.

OK. With GMAIL, you can use 7Zip to make .7z file, and send the exe in that.

I'll try that sometime tomorrow. So, you're saying that GMail is gonna allow me to put an exe inside a .7z, right?

Yes. It doesn't no how to read a 7z file, or at least didn't last time I checked. You could also encrypt the file and rename the extension, then give me the key to decrypt it.
