  • Boulder Dash 30th Anniversary Receives 2.0 Update

    By Carl Williams

Updates to classic titles are not all that popular for some reason. Sure, we get the original re-released for a premium price, but “new” takes on those classics are less popular for some reason. Boulder Dash 30th Anniversary has just received its 2.0 update which adds new levels and new features. Sad that we are not getting more remakes like this, let alone updates to the ones we do get. I will take updates to Boulder Dash though, it is a classic and worth playing. This update adds two whole new worlds and a bunch of new features.

“The response from both critics and players has been amazing for Boulder Dash-30th Anniversary,” said Chris Gray, CEO of TapStar Interactive. “We’re making the game even bigger and better with this new update. The hardcore fans are in for a real challenge!”

    V2.0 Update includes:
    • Two New Worlds, now totaling over 280 Levels in the full game
    • First New Levels in 30 Years by original creator Peter Liepa
    • Special, Limited-Time Events to Unlock Exclusive Content
    • Controller Support, including: MOGA, 8BitDo NES30 on supported iOS devices
    • Challenge Friends and Post High Scores on Facebook and/or Apple’s GameCenter
    • Tweet Screens and Messages from within the app only on Android devices
    • Unlock Characters with Unique Abilities
    • Gem Combos and Stylized Power-Ups

The usual things are apparent in this free to play game. Namely there are In App Purchases to be concerned with, especially if you are planning on getting this for a younger player. Keep this in mind when playing and you should be able to get tons of fun out of this release.

This looks like it could easily be an N64 game. I also made some codes recently for the Game Boy version of Boulder Dash because, why not?
