How to hack unit upgrades in Starcraft 2?

Instead of 3 maximum upgrades I'd like 4 5 or 6. Single player. It's pathetically easy to do with Artmoney on the original Starcraft but it seems I can't just do it this rudimentary way anymore. I tried searching unknown values as well but at a certain point I get an I/O access error.
So where do I even begin to accomplish this? It seems I'm far behind the times.

Edit I just saw the single player mode part, I'm not sure if it's still bad, but it's really not up to me to decide.

Yeah... if I found the address and edited it during a multiplayer session, I would get disconnected, hence why I want it for single player only so I can have some fun in the campaign missions.

Since the game is so big online, it probably has a ton of tricks to prevent people from finding cheats, specially if you don't know ASM or other advanced techniques.

I don't know about that. Minerals and vespene gas are exact values that are easy to find and edit in a memory searcher. You can't cheat online this way because you would desync from the others whose RAM does not contain your edit and thus disconnect.
The upgrade values aren't plaintext values though. What other approach must I take? And why would Artmoney give me an I/O error halfway thru the elimination process?
