Mess sdl help mac osx

Can someone please help me solve a problem i have been having when trying to run this emulator on my mac osx for quite some time now, the problem I'm having is I keep on getting a message saying no systems found check the rompath file specified in the mess.ini file, how do i fix this problem?, I've already tried rectifying the problem by putting all my psx bios files into the roms folder of the Mess folder and then by changing where its saids roms in the the mess ini file to my rom directory stored in my Mess folder, but have failed in my attempt to get the emulator working.

Hopefully someone could me resolve this problem I'm currently having thank you guys.

Thanks man I got the debugger working, thank very much to you and Mez for helping me out however i seem to be having a lot of trouble trying to get the the rom Street Fighter Alpha 3 US rom to even appear in the Messiu exe, I searched everywhere for it but It just won't show up, I placed the Street Fighter Alpha 3 US rom in the roms folder of the mess folder, any idea why it's not showing up in the list of games in the Messiu exe?

No man you need to use the roms in package I linked and not mess with those, you then open up MESS and go to the playstation and right click and choose properties and there you can set the game directories where the ISO is.
