      I found a few other codes I've never seen (or heard of) for SMB1:

      Coins never flash
      ITPEOZ


      This one kind of reminds me of the way the Mega Man stages are set up.
      Ground becomes green metal blocks
      LUAPAG
      NOTE: The ground looks like small cross sections of pipes. There aren't as many on Stage 1-2. Some of the blocks on 1-2 contain power-ups & some of them are missing. You may need to use a high jump code to get past the stage because sometimes a block in front of the pipe that leads to Stage 1-3 is missing. If that's the case, you can use the Warp Zone. When you are in the Koopa Castle or on any other stage that has white pipes, the ground will look white or gray instead of green. When you are on any swimming stage, the ground will appear pink.

      Ground becomes hidden power-up bricks
      ISAPAG
      NOTE: The ground will appear like bricks. On Stage 1-2, you'll notice extra bricks in places where they normally aren't.

        Grinding is when the game "forces" you to kill enemies over and over again for money or exp.

        In Zelda games you don't really have to grind. In Dragon Quest games, you have to or else you would get destroyed by new enemies.

And finally, I map the 'Pause' emulator fuction to my gamepad (R1). Also, codes work more often with Nestopia than FCEUX. Plus, Nestopia is more compatible (plays more games) than FCEUX. I also like how Nestopia looks (GUI) and feels, it's built like a rock (but doesn't feel bloated). Some of these other emulators, you could knock over with a feather. Nestopia also never crashes. Finally, I believe Nestopia is more accurate than FCEUX. I believe Nestopia is the second most accurate NES emulator ('Nintendulator' is the most accurate NES emulator). So after naming all these functions/features that Nestopia has that FCEUX doesn't have, for me, it's a no brainer to use Nestopia instead of FCEUX. Remember, I am only talking about using the emulator to play games. I know FCEUX has a 100 times more features when it comes to finding/making cheat codes, debugging, recording videos/music/snapshots, etc. But I'm talking about using the emulator strictly for playing games. If someone can name one feature than FCEUX has that Nestopia doesn't have in regards to just playing games, I'd like to hear it. And don't say, well I can just use the program "Joy2Key" with FCEUX to map buttons to my gamepad. Joy2Key is not part of FCEUX, so that doesn't count as a feature that FCEUX has when comparing the two emulators.
          thats quite a pitch are you a used car salesman? i wasn't debating the effectiveness of nestopia. what i was stating is that you cannot say a code is "invalid" and should be removed from the database because it don't work on a emulator. i have an NES and 300+ games no emulator can compare to playing the real hardware
          no matter how "accurate" an emulator claims to be . its still just copying the hardware and like a photo copy there are differences. Emulation is not the standard in which we accept codes.
          while some codes only work on emulators its pretty easy to see which ones are meant for emulators

            No, I'm a shoe salesman that is married to a wife named Peg, whom likes to eat Bon Bons everyday and can't get enough sex from me.

            i wasn't debating the effectiveness of nestopia. what i was stating is that you cannot say a code is "invalid" and should be removed from the database because it don't work on a emulator.

            I 100% agree with you. I feel very strongly about this. I may not have as many NES games as you (I have about 90 of the best NES games), but I feel the same way. In fact, I won't play any ROM if I have the game's real cartridge. If I'm going to play a game that I own, I might as well play it on my real NES hardware console. Also, 99% of the codes that I request are for games that I own.

                      I did a simple Google search of one of Chronomoon's game genie codes for Super Mario Bros. I googled the code "EKGAIS" and I saw numerous sites in which this code has already existed. If you type in the Google search bar "EKGAIS Game Genie", you will see numerous websites where this code has already existed. It was probably just a coincidence?

                        While tracking down a cheat Unicode wanted me to fix for SMB, I stumbled upon one of my own codes previously posted on the acmlm boards back in '08:

                        It's the first one on that page: PASLLGLA, for flying after an initial jump.

                        Now I *never* plagiarize other peoples' work. You'll sometimes see a code that I made which resembles another one. If it stems directly from another code, I'll give credit to the original author. But if it only resembles another cheat and I found the addresses by myself, I am not obligated to give credit to anyone. If inspired by another cheat, I might mention where inspiration came from, or I might not. Also, I aim to always produce something new, though I can't possibly search the entire 'net to see if a particular cheat has been done before; I usually just check GH's database.

                        But what are the chances that I would produce a code matching all eight digits of another one? The answer is simple: it's a code that I had found a long, long time ago, but lost back in the '90s when I foolishly gave away my system along with my entire codebook. Having known that it existed, I sought to find it again. When making my SMB cheats, I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was exactly, but I knew it was six digits in length, since I didn't know about compare values back when I first found it. Even if I had known about them, it wouldn't have helped. I knew that the code worked when you press UP on the gamepad, so I just ran trace logs of me pressing UP in FCEUX, and voila! I found it in a very short amount of time. The first one I found actually lets you just press UP to fly without needing to jump, but it's even worse than PASLLGLA in terms of usability. If needed, I could detail the steps I took to find it.

                        So it's entirely possible that chronomoon's cheats are his own. The more popular a game is (SMB being #1 on many lists), the more likely it will be that you'll find duplicates hanging around the internet. It's when all of chronomoon's codes can be found elsewhere that we should start to worry.

                                As I've said before...with umpteen people searching for codes for the same game, using the same code-seeking device & methods, many people are gonna come up with the same codes. It's a matter of who publishes a given code or codes first.

                                And you're quite correct to say, when in doubt if someone else has published a given code 'way back when, simply Google the code.
